In this adventure you must find the pieces to assemble the 'arrow of death'. I presume once assembled you will use it to defeat the evil Xerdon and unsully the golden baton in part II.
Like the other Mysterious Adventures I have played so far, this is straightforward good old solid adventure. There are nice little clues to find, logical puzzles and fun to be had.
However, I did find this the weakest of the series so far, why? I'm not so sure, it may be that I had to take a break part way through due to lack of time and lost the thread a bit. Looking back though, I think my feeling was that it feels a bit like a one way road to ultimate success. No backtracking in places and a few rather boring locations.
Don't get me wrong, it's still a decent adventure and worth having a go to run through the series, just not the best of the bunch.
I'm sure the Mysterious Adventures will improve from here again. I'll let you know!
Parser/Vocabulary (Rating: 6/10)
The usual 2 word input
Atmosphere (Rating: 6/10)
A bit bland in places, but there are points (the ferryman, the eagle and the ring of toadstools) that are quite pleasing.
Cruelty (Rating: Polite)
There are a couple of sticky ends and an 'Oh dear, now he's out of the game I can't move on' moment, but pretty pleasant otherwise.
Puzzles (Rating: 6/10)
Logical and nice little clues on the scrolls.
Overall (Rating: 6/10)
Another good adventure but I am hoping for better games ahead.
