Synopsis

Plot

You start the game in a grey-painted cell without any explanation of who you are or why you're there. You hear a conversation in the corridor which suggests that you're not in a very good situation. You hear the door of the adjacent cell being unlocked and opened and the sound of dragging feet and receding footsteps.

A little while later, all hell breaks loose. You hear gunshots and shouting and three bullets splinter your door and ricochet around your cell. One bullet comes to rest just six inches from your head. You pass out from the shock. What's in store for you when you come to?

Notes

This was an entry in the 10th Annual Interactive Fiction Competition, where it placed 31st out of 36 entries. Information on this game is contradictory. According to the usual sources, the original competition entry was written by Edward Plant using the pseudonym of 'shed'. This version was apparently unwinnable and received bad reviews, but I can't find any trace of it. Version 1.2 fixed a number of bugs, added a few features, is winnable and is quite fun to play. It requires an Alan 2.8 interpreter to run.
