Synopsis
Plot
In June 1941, Moscow was under threat of invasion by German panzer divisions, so a convoy of lorries and armed half-tracks transported Moscow's greatest art treasures to the crypts of Zagorsk Monastery. The most important of all, the fabulous St Petersburg Ikon, was allocated a secret chamber to itself.
Many years later, the Russian authorities have given you permission to make an attempt to find the ikon, the only artefact they have not managed to retrieve, from the crypt of the monastery. Its recovery brings a personal reward of two million US dollars, but it is not without danger.
Notes
This was originally published as '
The St Petersburg Ikon' by IPC Business Press as a BASIC type-in listing for the Commodore 64 in
Your Computer, issue 32, vol. 4, no. 3, March 1984, pp. 77–78; issue 33, vol. 4, no. 4, April 1984, pp. 164–166 to accompany an article on how to write adventures.
It was unofficially modified and ported to the Oric Atmos as 'Zagorsk' (or 'The Zagorsk-Adventure') by Lars Lundgren.
In 1986, it was enhanced with graphics and published by R. D. Foord Software for the Memotech MTX and Spectrum ZX.
