EMERALD ELEPHANT OF CIPANGU
Published by Ahoy Magazine
Walk Through by Dorothy Millard (C64 Version)

Scenario
Just through the trees is the Castle of Darkness. Once you see it, you'll be struck blind
until you leave, but hidden in a secret treasure room somewhere in the castle is the Emerald
Elephant of Cipangu. The touch of the elephant will give you the priceless gift of far sight, which
will let you see to the ends of the earth. Whatever place you think of, you will see.

Notes
1. Only understands the first letter of commands, ie. N, S, E, W, U, D, B(ack), T(ake), L(leave),
P(peer closely), G(list or inventory), Q(uit), H(elp).
2. Directions are odd and you rarely return to where you think you will.
3. When you go south from the coun's chamber, if it doesn't work, wander around for a
while and try again. It may be a counter that has to count down before it will work. Keep trying!
4. If any of the directions given below don't work it is because of the random nature of the
game, just wander around until you find the location you need.

Walk Through
(Start at castle main gate as a firefly), E (ledge), T (take golden key), N, W, S (grove), T (take
knife), D (using the knife you work a crack in the foundation stone and crawl through to the kitchen
- ignore the bread), W (courtyard - leave the sundial), U (gatehouse),T (take ale), D (back to
courtyard), D (kitchen), D (dungeons where you see a mouse), T (take mouse), U (great hall), U
(coun's chamber), T (take pillow), S (you spill some of the ale on the pillow, the mouse wakes,
drinks it and reads the words written in the embroidery of the pillow... a secret door glows, it is
the treasure room), T (take Emerald Elephant of Cipangu), B (back to coun's chamber), D (great
hall), N (courtyard), N (gatehouse), N (you unlock the gate with the golden key - to main gate).

You're outside the castle with the Emerald Elephant of Cipangu.
Now you can see again and I have recovered my true form. I know I'm incredibly
good-looking, but don't bother asking me for a data - you're fine for exploring castles,
but I'm engaged to marry somebody with royal blood and a fortune
bigger than the national debt.
You've been sweet, though. Thanks a bunch!
