1.                                Introduction

===============================================================================


Dargonscrypt is an interactive fiction adventure that was made by Venom Games
in 1987. An evil prince named Repsilak has emerged from his underground lair to
become ruler of the continent of Dargonscrypt. The prince's magic is slowly
destroying the sun. The aim in the game is to find six items that will create
the elixir of light and power in order to defeat Repsilak.

2.                                Walkthrough

===============================================================================


SERPENT
-------

The game starts on the lowly plain. Move SOUTH and EAST to the temple. GET
CRUCIFIX. Move WEST, NORTH, NORTHEAST, EAST and NORTHEAST to the lower chamber.
WAVE CRUCIFIX at the serpent to kill it. GET SERPENT.


SEED
----

Move SOUTHWEST and WEST to the sand caverns. GET CANTEEN. Move SOUTHWEST,
SOUTH, EAST and NORTHEAST to the market square. WATER PLANT. GET SEED.


POWDER
------

Move SOUTHWEST, WEST, NORTH and WEST to the dead forest. GET STICK. Move EAST,
SOUTH, EAST and SOUTH to the rubble. WAVE STICK to enter the forge. GET AXE.
Move NORTHWEST, NORTH, WEST, NORTH, WEST, NORTHWEST, NORTHEAST to the large
tree. THROW AXE at the creature. ENTER TREE. GET BREAD. LEAVE TREE. Move
SOUTHWEST, SOUTHEAST, WEST twice and SOUTH to the small cave. GIVE BREAD to the
parrot to hear the password. Move NORTH twice to the waterfall. SAY SNAKIVOR to
see a block of salt. GET SALT. Move SOUTH, EAST three times, NORTHEAST and EAST
to the statue. RUB SALT to see the tear. KISS TEAR. GET POWDER.


EGG
---

Move WEST, SOUTHWEST, SOUTH and SOUTHWEST to the fountain. GET QUILL. Move
NORTHEAST, NORTH, NORTHEAST, EAST, NORTHEAST and NORTHWEST to the door. CLOSE
EYES. OPEN DOOR to enter the room with the markings on the floor. SCRATCH QUILL
and a panel will open to reveal an egg. GET EGG.


PEARL
-----

Move SOUTH, SOUTHEAST, SOUTHWEST, WEST, and NORTHWEST to the outer chamber. GET
CHALK. Move SOUTHEAST, EAST and SOUTHEAST to the large door. DRAW CHALK to
enter the underground city. Move SOUTHEAST and SOUTHWEST to the field. GET
COIN. Move SOUTH to the STATUE. PUT COIN in the statue. GET PEARL.


ROPE
----

Move NORTH, NORTHEAST and NORTH to the empty room. WAIT and a monk will enter
the room. GIVE CRUCIFIX to the monk and he will offer a rope. GET ROPE.


TO THE FINISH
-------------

Move SOUTH, SOUTHWEST, SOUTH, SOUTHWEST and NORTHWEST to the cauldron. DEPOSIT
SERPENT. DEPOSIT SEED. DEPOSIT POWDER. DEPOSIT EGG. DEPOSIT PEARL. DEPOSIT ROPE
to complete the game.

3.                                 Item List

===============================================================================


AXE
  Found in the blacksmith's forge. It is thrown at the creature in the area
  with the large tree.


BLOCK OF SALT
  Found at the waterfall after the password "snakivor" has been said. It is
  rubbed in the area with the statue.


CANTEEN
  Found by digging in the sand at the sand caverns. It is used to water the
  plant at the market square.


COIN
  Found in the field. It is put in the statue of Zeus to see the pearl.


CRUCIFIX
  Found in the temple. It is waved at the serpent in the lower chamber. It is
  given to the monk in the empty room.


DEAD SERPENT
  Found by waving the crucifix at the serpent in the lower chamber. The serpent
  can then be picked up. It is the first of six items to be deposited into the
  cauldron.


EGG
  Found by scratching the quill in the area with the floor markings. It is the
  fourth of six items to be deposited into the cauldron.


LOAF OF BREAD
  Found in the tree. It is given to the parrot to reveal a password.


PEARL
  Found by putting the coin in the statue of Zeus. It is the fifth of six items
  to be deposited into the cauldron.


PIECE OF CHALK
  Found in the outer cavern. It is used to draw in the area with the large
  door.


PIECE OF ROPE
  Found in the empty room after the crucifix has been given to the monk. It is
  the sixth of six items to be deposited into the cauldron.


QUILL
  Found by the fountain. It is scratched in the area with the floor markings to
  reveal an egg.


SEED
  Found at the market square after the plant has been watered. It is the second
  of six items to be deposited into the cauldron.


STICK
  Found in the dead forest. It is waved in the area with the pile of rubble to
  enter the blacksmith's forge.


THIN GLASS TUBE OF POWDER
  Found by kissing the tear that is produced by rubbing the salt in the area
  with the statue. It is the third of six items to be deposited into the
  cauldron.


TROWEL
  Found in the small glade. It can be used in the sand caverns to dig in the
  sand for the canteen.
