This short game is an improvement over the other Merlock Game (Ashes of
Alucard). It is relatively straightforward, though it takes time to
collect all you need. You need to use the correct verb. These include:
TURN, FILL, LIGHT, BREAK, UNLOCK, LEAVE, INSERT, WEAR, LIFT, DRINK, ENTER
in addition to movement N, S, W, E, U, and D, DROP, TAKE, OPEN, etc.
You can only take/get/pick objects which are visible, so don't waste your
time taking objects, which are not visibily highlighted. Many however, are
important.
There are special verbs for certain objects. Though the vocabulary is
limited, these verbs will only work if you have particular, necessary
objects.
The desk in the pantry, while it says you cannot open it at present, you
cannot open it, period.
There are several unnecessary objects: the rusty springs (formed when you
take the jumping jack), the spade, the cue, the book. The walkthrough does
not take you to those rooms or those objects.There are many more rooms to
visit than this walkthrough takes you.
You begin in the main hall. Go N, W, N, TAKE MATCHES, W, N, TURN CARVING,
N, N, E, TAKE LAMP, N, TAKE CHISEL, S, W, S, S, S, E, S, E, E, E, OPEN
CUPBOARD, DROP CHISEL, TAKE TIN, FILL LAMP, DROP TIN, N, N, U, U, S, TAKE
UNIFORM, WEAR UNIFORM, N, W, S, TAKE HAT, WEAR HAT, N, E, N, LIFT
MATTRESS, TAKE TROWEL, S, D, D, N, TAKE OPENER, W, OPEN FRIDGE (need
opener and wearing hat and uniform), TAKE PACKET, DROP OPENER, OPEN
PACKET, (you get a horse-brass), E, REMOVE UNIFORM, DROP UNIFORM, REMOVE
HAT, DROP HAT, LIGHT LAMP, DROP MATCHES, D, S, TAKE BOTTLE, N, U, S, S, W,
