Scenario
The year is 1942 and you were on a mission as a RAF Gunner when your bomber was shot down over
Germany. Out of the four-member crew, you alone managed to parachute to safety. Your mission is to
return safely to England.
Walk Through
(Start in a clearing in an old forest), INVENTORY (you have your Colt 45, some rations and your
uniform), GET PARACHUTE, S (overgrown area of forest), EXAMINE LEAVES (you find an old bucket), GET
BUCKET, HIDE PARACHUTE (you cover it with leaves), N, E (narrow dirt road), S, S, S (see a small
overgrown trail), GO TRAIL, E (small clearing where you meet a hermit), GET BAG (the hermit won’t
let you), GIVE RATIONS (he gulps them down and falls asleep), GET BAG, GO SHELTER, GET AXE, EXAMINE
BAG (you find some old clothes), GET CLOTHES, S, W, W, N, N, N, W, S (back to where the leaves are),
WEAR CLOTHES, HIDE UNIFORM (you cover it with leaves), N, E, S, E.
E (see house), GO HOUSE (to front porch), OPEN DOOR, ENTER HOUSE (to dusty hallway), W (study),
EXAMINE DESK (see a drawer), EXAMINE DRAW (find a rat trap), GET TRAP, EXAMINE DRAWER (this time you
find a map), GET MAP, READ MAP (shows an X marked on the road just east of the house), E, S
(kitchen), EXAMINE CUPBOARD (find a piece of cheese), GET CHEESE, SET TRAP, N, E (old decrepit
bedroom), EXAMINE BED (an old bed with a smelly mattress – note if you examine the mattress you
will be bitten by a rat and contract a mutant form of bubonic plague), DROP TRAP, W, W, S (closet),
GET LADDER, N, E, E (back to decrepit bedroom where a rat should be caught in the trap), EXAMINE
MATTRESS (find some money), GET MONEY, W, S.
S (backyard), EXAMINE TREE (see a chipmunk sized hole), CLIMB TREE (you can’t reach the bottom
branches), CLIMB LADDER, CLIMB TREE (to middle of oak tree), CLIMB TREE (top of tree where you can
see the roof), JUMP ROOF, EXAMINE SHINGLES (find a key), GET KEY, JUMP TREE, D, D, D (backyard),
EXAMINE WEEDS (find a shovel), GET SHOVEL, CHOP TREE (now see a stump and a fallen oak tree),
EXAMINE STUMP (find a gas coupon in the chipmunk’s nest), GET COUPON, N, N, N, N.
E (place marked on the map), WAIT, WAIT, WAIT (until the sun sets), DIG (find an iron box), GET BOX,
W, W (see gas station), GO STATION (the attendant says “Heil Hitler”), SAY HEIL (note if you
don’t the attendant shoots you), BUY GAS, N, W, S, S, S (abandoned airfield), GO HANGER (door is
closed), UNLOCK DOOR, OPEN DOOR, GO HANGER (see plane), OPEN BOX (it’s rusted shut), GET OIL, OIL
BOX, OPEN BOX, EXAMINE BOX (find a compass), GET COMPASS, GAS PLANE, S, N, N, N, N, W, S (to where
you hid your parachute in the leaves), EXAMINE LEAVES, GET PARACHUTE (note it is unpacked and there
is a flare), PACK PARACHUTE, GET FLARE, N, E, S, S, S, S (back to airfield), OPEN DOOR, ENTER
HANGER, GO PLANE, WEAR LIFE JACKET, FLY HOME (you head for the English coast but run out of gas…
you parachute to safety and are floating in the English Channel), SHOOT FLARE (you are rescued by an
English patrol boat).
