THE ISLAND KEN BOND
AMSTRAD VERSION
TAKEABLE OBJECTS AND HINTS
--------------------------

This is a rather good amalgam of treasure hunt game and escape from an island. I would classify it
as medium difficulty.  There are numerous soft locks and hard locks together with generous timers;
the first revolving around your escape from a sinking ship and the second an oil lamp. Some objects
have multiple uses even when they’re broken! There are no red herrings to my knowledge and an
ample inventory limit that only becomes relevant towards the end of the game.

The snake can be blown up but don’t do it! Try a method used by Willie Crowther all those years
ago to get past it.

The chest is guarded with dynamite. This is a weighty problem.

Sometimes broken garden tools can have uses they didn’t have when they were intact.

Petrol doesn’t taste nice but you’ll need to sample it to get it in the can.

The Captain keeps a moving photograph of his family in his cabin.

Doors can be opened with other things beside keys.

Don’t get trigger happy until right at the end.

The maze is a standard “drop the items” one. You will need to map it thoroughly.

Barbed wire is so bad for the complexion. I’d advise using something to cover it before ascending
it.
