Lucid Night
By Dee Cooke
For Z-code interpreters

Solution by Garry Francis
----------------------------------------
This is a minimal solution. You'll need to EXAMINE lots of things for this solution to make
sense. Some optional (but significant) commands are shown in parentheses. These can be omitted once
you know what to do.

The game consists of four parts. Each part is a dream. In each dream, you must breathe (for one
point) and return to your bedroom (for one point). That's a total of eight points. Once you
have returned to your bedroom, you simply sleep to progress to the next part.

Scores are shown in parentheses as +A=B, where A is points earned and B is cumulative points
earned.

[Part 1: Airlock]
(THINK) ('Remember to breathe')
BREATHE (+1=1)
TURN WHEEL (you turn it to 45 degrees, a window slides into view)
X WINDOW (you see a green star)
X GREEN STAR (dull click comes from control wheel, you can now turn it further)
TURN WHEEL (you turn it to 90 degrees, a door appears)
(X DOOR) (something about it says, 'east')
E (to bedroom) (+1=2)
X HUSBAND (or X WIFE, the game then adapts accordingly)
SLEEP (you feel like there's something in your pocket)

[Part 2: Observatory]
(I) (you're carrying a metal item)
X ITEM (it's a screwdriver)
X CLOCK (it has a small compartment)
(X COMPARTMENT) (it's closed)
(OPEN IT) (it's screwed shut)
UNSCREW SCREWS
OPEN COMPARTMENT (there's a reset button inside)
PRESS RESET BUTTON (you notice a table with a magazine)
READ MAGAZINE (there are scribbles on advert)
READ ADVERT (the scribbles say 'Breathe')
BREATHE (+1=3)
READ MAGAZINE (you read article about poor sleep)
G (you read weather forecast)
G (you read about indigenous birds of Australia)
G (you read top ten secrets to a happy marriage)

G (you read about hottest trends in autumn furnishings)
G (you read about feng shui)
G (you read about jam and pesto) (to bedroom) (+1=4)
SLEEP

[Part 3: Gum tree and banana tree]
(X KOOKABURRA) (hint lies at its feet)
(GET HINT) (it would be rude to take it without asking)
(TALK TO KOOKABURRA) (try asking about something)
(ASK KOOKABURRA ABOUT HINT) (you can now take it)
(GET HINT)
(READ IT) ('Find a way to swing to the next tree')
TIE ROPE TO BRANCH
SWING ON ROPE
(X BANANA) (sticker says, 'BREATHE')
BREATHE (+1=5)
GET BANANA
EAT IT (to bedroom) (+1=6)
SLEEP

[Part 4: Boxroom]

STAND ON EAST BOX (you catch a glimpse of haunted mansion)
STAND ON WEST BOX (you catch a glimpse of giant purple crown & find a machine)

***THE END***
