Treasure Quest (Treasure-Quest-ti-99-4a-solution.txt)

Solution for the freeware TI-99/4A text adventure "Treasure Quest” by Jim Beck.

This game is available on Tigercub PD disk 1422 "More Text Adventures".

In the following walkthrough, notes are enclosed in round brackets. Commands in
square brackets are optional but generally informative. Spelling mistakes in
the original game have intentionally been left in the walkthrough.

*note1:- You need to drink water once at least every thirty turns or will die.
Drinking from the bottle only happens when there is no fixed water source
available. As there is water here in the oasis, your bottle will remain full on
this occasion.

General notes:-
The response "I don’t understand you" is a catch-all for anything you can’t do,
or any failed action, even if the command itself is correctly formed. In most
other games, this message would be replaced with something like "You can't do
that". It's not a problem once you realise this.

Some responses result in a flashing border while a tune plays. The player is
required to press a key to exit that mode and return to the text input prompt
in those particular cases.

The text input area is only 11 characters in length - not big enough to fit
some entire commands in - although this doesn't affect gameplay as only first
three letters of each word are significant.

On executing the SAY SCORE command in the oasis, the lower part of the screen
does not clear correctly, hiding the text input field until you press ENTER.
This can inadvertently cause the "I don't understand you" message to appear
after viewing your score.
