DUNGEON OF TORGAR
Pegasus Software
by The Guild (Simon M. Langan)
Spectrum 48

This is a good game with a reasonable number of locations, and not much
backtracking necessary. A few steps need to be done in sequence, but
otherwise order is not important. You soon find out what your objective
is – to collect treasures. There's a twist at the end – you think you are
stuck, and don't yet have all the objects, but you really aren't.

Use the flute before you give it to the leprechaun.

There are several random elements in the game. If you don't run into the
leprechaun again to give him the flute and get some hints, don't worry,
as his hints are useless.

He is very light-fingered, so if you have a key in your possession, move
quickly or he will take it.

SEARCH the wet room.

EXAMINING objects provides clues.

The lamp does not go out (other than when the leprechaun extinguishes
it), so don't panic.

Remember what the eye of the Medusa did? THROW IT AT granite objects.

Objects needed more than once: the demon's eye, the eye of Medusa, the
flute, the carpet.

Objects to ignore: the black ring, the sword, the skeleton.

Don't drop the vase, so save it till the end.

The parser recognizes (and sometimes needs) more than two words. GIVE
<something> TO <SOMEONE>, for example.

List of verbs: BREAK, CATCH, CLIMB, DIG, DROP, EXAMINE, GET/TAKE, LOOK,
OPEN, PLAY, POINT, PRESS, PUSH, READ, REDESCRIBE, RELEASE, SEARCH, SWAP,
THROW, UNLOCK, USE, WEAR,

EXAMINE the wall in the wet room.

You begin in a dungeon. TAKE LAMP, INVENTORY (you have a parchment and a
sword), EXAMINE SWORD, DROP SWORD, EXAMINE PARCHMENT (it lists the ten
treasures you will need), LIGHT LAMP, N (there is no way back). You hear
chanting. WAIT and REDESCRIBE until you no longer hear it. Go N, N,
EXAMINE IDOL, CLIMB IDOL, EXAMINE EYES, PRESS EYES (you hear a click),
CLIMB DOWN, REDESCRIBE (you see a passage north), E, TAKE FLUTE, EXAMINE
FLUTE (shaped like a snake), W, N, W, W, W, W, S, TAKE EYE (don't look at
it or examine it), E, TAKE CHARM, EXAMINE CHARM, WEAR CHARM, E. Around

When you see the leprechaun, make sure you drop any keys you have, or
when you see the message about a "light touch" he will have taken a key.
If he extinguishes your lamp, just relight it, and take it again. EXAMINE
LEPRECHAUN, PLAY FLUTE (he likes it), GIVE FLUTE TO LEPRECHAUN (he will
give you help if you ask), SAY "HELP" TO LEPRECHAUN (you get some mundane

POINT WAND AT GHOSTS (they disappear), E, LOOK THROUGH EYE (you see a

open, E, EXAMINE CROWN, EXAMINE THRONE (you see a crack), SWAP CROWN WITH
ROCK (the doors shut and water starts to pour in), PUSH THRONE (you see a
