Boarding House), W (city park), N (beach), E, ENTER LIGHTHOUSE, CLIMB STAIRS (to top of 
lighthouse), LOOK WINDOWS (see Grandell Island and a smaller island with a palm tree to the north),

D, LEAVE LIGHTHOUSE, W, W (outside Capt’s Den Tavern), ENTER TAVERN, QUESTION 
BARTENDER (he says that answers ain’t cheap), BRIBE BARTENDER (he tells you of a small island 
to the north and that the Commodore was the only one who knew the way through the reef), LEAVE 
TAVERN, E, S (city park).

W (lawn of a large house where the name on the letterbox states Commodore Grandell), ENTER 
HOUSE (front hall), CLIMB STAIRS (second level where you see a rope hanging from the ceiling), 
PULL ROPE (now see stairs leading to the attic), CLIMB STAIRS (to attic), OPEN CHEST (locked), 
D (maid is now here cleaning), QUESTION MAID, BRIBE MAID (she asks what you want), KEY (she 
hands it to you), D (front hall), LOOK DESK (see drawer), UNLOCK DRAWER (with key from maid), 
OPEN DRAWER, LOOK DRAWER (see a key taped to the bottom), GET KEY, CLIMB STAIRS (to 
second level), PULL ROPE (see stairs), CLIMB STAIRS (to attic), UNLOCK CHEST (with key from 
desk), OPEN CHEST, LOOK CHEST (see map), GET MAP, READ MAP, D, D, E (back outside).

E, N (beach), EXAMINE DOCK (next to it is a shack with a sign in front), READ SIGN (beach 
equipment rental), RENT SHOVEL, RENT PAIL, RENT BOAT (good for one trip), ENTER BOAT 
(what course will you sail?), 3N3W2N2E2N (you have successfully avoided the reef and arrive on the 
island), CLIMB TREE (hint on where to find the treasure), ENTER BOAT (what course will you sail?), 
3S2W2S3E2S (you have successfully avoided the reef and are back on the beach), S (park where 
the flagpole casts a shadow), DIG HOLE (by what?), 12 (you find Commodore Grandell’s treasure).
