KNIGHT LIFE

You play the role of Arthur (before he became king). Your quest is made 
evident early in the game - to find a pair of Holey Socks.

This walkthrough is written with you picking up objects that you come 
across even though you do not know what use to make of them. Technically 
speaking, however, you should first talk to people to find out what they 
need. This occurs sometimes, though there are exceptions. For example 
you should talk to the alchemist before you get Fred's hair.

It is important that you follow this walkthrough precisely. It is 
written taking into account when you need to sleep as this changes when 
people appear. If you insert additional comments/examinations, etc. you 
will disrupt the cycle. You will then need to wait at various places for 
certain people to appear and disrupt the cycle further. However the 
general procedure can still be followed.

HINTS:



While this game has comparatively few locations, you often need to 
visit each one more than once, which makes the game quite long.

Type COMMANDS, INFO, VOCAB to learn about how to play the game.

EXAMINE, LOOK UNDER..., LOOK BEHIND, and SEARCH are all different 
commands.

So is ASK..... and ASK........ABOUT.......

If you need extra money, SELL HANDKERCHIEF or SELL GOLD CHAIN when at 
the market with the three stalls.

If you run across a character in a particular location, the next time 
WAIT (Z) until he/she arrives again.

You can sleep in four places: in your room NW of the courtyard; in the 
tavern with the drunk; in the place with the seer and the rocks; and in 
the clearing with the birds.

The object is to find 4 scrolls and get various characters to write one 
of two verses on each scroll. The scribe and Geraldine write on the 
Nuadu scroll; the drunk and the monk/gardener write on the Luxovious 
scroll; the traveller and the blacksmith write on the Matres scroll; 
and the seer and the blacksmith write on the Epona scroll.

There is a slight glitch is that there is a door you can unlock where 
the seer is but it is not described in the location.
SOLUTION:

You begin in a stable. You have 20 groats and 21 rations of food. 
EXAMINE ROPE, UNCOIL ROPE (you get 3 groats), EXAMINE STRAW, SEARCH 
STRAW (you get the scroll of Epona), SW, N, EXAMINE GIRL, EXAMINE 
GUINEVERE, ASK GUINEVERE ABOUT GIRL, CALL MORGANA, ASK MORGANA ABOUT 
GIRL (you get a handkerchief), EXAMINE BAR (you get a drink), EXAMINE 
SHIELD, LOOK BEHIND SHIELD, FIGHT, LOOK BEHIND SHIELD (you get a chain 
and put it on), EXAMINE STOOLS (you get a tray), PUT DRINK ON TRAY, 
GIVE DRINK TO CUSTOMER (you get a silver coin), GIVE COIN (you get 5 
groats from Guinevere), WAIT (until priest shows up), ASK PRIEST (you 
get your quest), S, NE, SLEEP.

SW, N, ASK GUINEVERE ABOUT QUEST (you need to unite 4 gods), WAIT 
(until Lancelot arrives), ASK LANCELOT ABOUT QUEST (you need permission 
to go. He gives you a chest), S, EXAMINE JENNY, ASK JENNY ABOUT QUEST 
(you get a compass), SWEEP (you get 5 groats), E, SHOW COMPASS (you get 
Nelly), ASK SHOPKEEPER, BUY LEATHER, W, NE, OPEN DOOR, SW, WAIT (until 
Galahad shows up), EXAMINE GALAHAD, ASK GALAHAD WHAT IS YOUR FEE (15 
groats), ASK GALAHAD WHAT CAN YOU DO (build, lift, pull), HIRE GALAHAD, 
NE, SLEEP. 

You can ask these questions of others as well, but it is Galahad you 
need to hire. Go SW, CLIMB ON NELLY, W, DOWN. EXAMINE ROAD (get a 
parchment - Luxovious), E, EXAMINE STONES, GALAHAD "LIFT STONE" (you 
get 10 groats), ASK SEER ABOUT QUEST (you need to find both verses of 4 
prophecies, then take the scrolls to the druids at the gods' altars. 
When they unite at the Shrine of Belenus you will receive your goal. 
Also ask Serena about the conch. You also find out the seer wants to 
see birds in order to write the first verse of Epona).

need to appease the god. She suggests you find the time sorcerer to
