Synopsis

From the game's introductory text: "As a constable of Scotland Yard you have been assigned to patrol the Whitechapel section of London to seek out one Jack the Ripper and put an end to his murderous crimes."

This police work does not involve questioning any suspects; it's mostly a matter of solving some puzzles to undermine Jack's murderous efforts, and put on an appropriate undercover disguise to catch the villain. The game makes no attempt to answer the historical question of whom, exactly, Jack the Ripper was.
