C64 Ripper Help - Avalon Hill 1984

#1 Post by dwest »

Still working on solving this game on my C64. Every Xmas we fire the C64 up and continue to work on this game. Does anyone know the list of valid commands you can enter? Has anyone solved this game? We believe we are close but missing something. Twenty years and still loading up on the 1541 disk drive! I'm afraid one of these days it's not going to load. Need a hint to solve because we are stuck. Thanks, Dwayne

Thanks Alex for the list of verbs. This should help us since we haven't used approx. 30% of them. I will keep you posted.

I tried playing it myself today and have added some hints but I must admit I got stuck at several points:

-I guess you have to find some way to open the fireplace but I don't know how.
-After passing the grate you tumble down into a dark place. Unfortunately I loose my lit candle in doing this and all my other objects. After a while I faint because of chloroform and awake in my room with all the objects I lost falling down. Did you find a way to look in the dark? Is it possible to escape before you faint. I entered the secret passage but couldn't find another exit.
-I couldn't find any use for the Nurse (Florence Nightingale).
-I can't find the mirror

Thanks, Dwayne

Congratulations for solving the game. Now write a hint sheet or solution for Jacob to put up on his site :-).

Finally managed to solve this game. Thanks to Dwayne for telling me how to get past the fireplace. I've added a solution.
