Hello!

#1 Post by Sharpworks »

Hi!
Just recently joined the CASA site / forum. I was a fan of text adventures when I was a kid but didn't get to play that many, however I did feel proud upon beating HHGTTG! I do enjoy them though and will be giving some more a try (especially quite well known ones which I never got to play back in the day!). Really good to see a website dedicated to hints & solutions too. On that note : I have just beaten The Adventure Game (a text adventure based on the old BBC TV programme) and will be contributing the solution to the site just as soon as I've filmed my walkthrough video (I've also made a map).

Well, I'll say "Hello!" even if nobody else has... and even, though we already "talk" elsewhere. ;)

Your recent video should be of interest to those on here who might want to explore Sharp MZ text adventures using an emulator...

Hello back! Sorry, I know it wasn't much of an introduction. My first computer was a ZX81 (and I don't remember seeing any adventures on that!), I then had the Sharp MZ-80A, then the BBC B before moving onto the Amstrad PC1512 which I then abandoned in 1993 for an Amiga A500+ :) I even made a text adventure creation system on the Amiga which is somewhere on Aminet. This is where I confess that I haven't even played Zork! I need to get onto that!

Me neither... and I have no desire ever to do so. ;)

Oh, nothing at all. I've just never been that bothered about Infocom. So many adventures out there to play, I've just used that as my dividing line.

It's not great but I did have some payments for registered versions though, so some people seemed to enjoy it! It was this one:

(Note : I was young(ish) when I made it and hence the rather boastful description :D )
