Presumably one of the early Lindasoft titles, that one, going on the date?

I notice that we don't yet have Doriano's (The/I) Beatles e il papiro della pace listed in the archive either.

You might be interested in this 100% working version of Eryus:

The game had two problems:
- due to how it was cracked, it was only playable on PAL systems... despite being developed in the US!
- keyboard input was a nightmare

These two fixes by DjayBee should make the title fully playable now.

Thanks for this. It was one that I was unaware of. It makes me wonder whether there are any other goodies tucked away in New Atari User. I've added an entry for the CASA database. I'm sure the admins will get around to it shortly.

I believe a big chunk of the Atari catalog has been recovered already though, as far as magazine type-ins go, there are a probably a few forgotten here and there (ditto for book listings). There will always be a freeware title popping up from time to time and the Czech / Slovak games need to be sorted but the listing is quite complete (considering some commercial programs will be impossible to find).

This information has been added, thanks.
From the instructions & screenshots, they probably don't qualify for inclusion. I guess it depends on what puzzle elements are in there. As an aside, shouldn't Addison-Wesley be the actual publisher of those games. Rhiannon Software seem to be the developers?
In general, I think the policy is that we're not specifically looking to add any additional "selectable answers" games. They're generally outside the defined scope of CASA, with parser games as the main focus, although any such games that are already listed will probably remain there.

I can't swear to it, but I think the Atari Homesoft version of 'The Saga of Erik the Viking' may be buggy. I only played a little way into the game until I got to the kitchen. When I examined the stewpot, I got a blacked out image and a different set of exits, but most of those didn't work.

Check the credits. It was based on the book of the same name written by Terry Jones. CASA says it was written by Pete and Mike Austin. Atarimania says it was written by Sue Gazzard and Pete Austin. One or the other must be wrong.

The Addison-Wesley games aren't really text adventures. There's no command-line input and no parser. It is single key entry. As best as I could work out, the keys for 'Jenny of the Prairie' are:
C = Chop
H = Inventory
I = Up
J = Left
K = Right
L = Look
M = Down
O = Throw? (Response says, "There is nothing to aim at here.")
P = Throw? (Response says, "There is nothing to aim at here.")
S = Score
U = Pick up

I found a slingshot on the first screen by aimlessly wandering around, but it refused to pick it up. U asks you what you want to pick up followed by a numbered list with one item. You can't enter a number and it doesn't do anything when you type "slingshot". All in all, this was unplayable.

'Final Exam' is one of those multiple choice thingies. As such, it's outside the scope of CASA's main goal.

According to the Erik manual...

Game design: Pete Austin
Programmed by: Pete Austin
Artist: Joan Lamb
Transport to your computer: Mike Austin
Adventure system: Mike Austin
Graphics system: Ian Buxton & Mike Austin
Other work by team at Level 9 Computing

Definitely not attributable to Sue Gazzard, that's for sure. She only did Lords of Time. Level 9 decided not to make the follow-up adventure idea she submitted.

Thanks for the explanations about the submissions.

Let me see if I can get in touch with Homesoft in regard to the buggy Saga of Erik the Viking. I'll remove Sue Gazzard from the credits on our page as well.

Finally, here's another adventure I just found:

A very generic title, but perhaps this Cave of Doom...
https://archive.org/details/Bellcom1990 ... of+doom%22

Or maybe a listing based on an existing BASIC type-in.

Yes, this is where I found it.

There's an additional text file where the author gives his CompuServe address... but he never mentions his name!

What's his mailbox address? It's useful to tag with that, as it may help make connections later. From that catalogue, we know it's a pre-1990 release, then.
