Adventuron Christmas Jam

#1 Post by Garry » Sun Nov 15, 2020 5:25 am

I wasn't sure whether to put this under classic or modern, because it relates to classic style adventures, but written with a modern system.

Anyway, the Adventuron Christmas Jam is underway. This is the 5th in the series of Adventuron game jams and this time around your objective is to make a Christmas-themed text adventure using Adventuron. There are heaps of neat prizes.

In case you've never used Adventuron before, it's fairly easy to learn and there is heaps of support in the form of tutorials, documentation, sample programs and a strong community on Facebook, Twitter, Telegram, intfiction.org and itch.io.

So what are you waiting for? See https://itch.io/jam/an-adventuron-christmas-jam for the jam rules, list of prizes and useful links. Submissions close on 21 December 2020 and then the community can play and rate the games. Join in the fun. The more, the merrier. Ho, ho, ho!

The submission period was extended by 44 hours. There were 24 people registered and 12 submissions. That's a 50% submission rate, which exceeds the past rate of around 25%.

You can now play and rate all the games from the submissions page. These are all classic, parser-based text adventures, not multiple choice games. The quality of the games is very high. There is a wide range of styles, both in gameplay and in graphics. All the games are free. You can play the games in your browser. There is nothing to download, although you can download them from the itch.io app, if you prefer. You need to register with itch.io if you want to enter comments, ask for hints or rate the games. This is also free. At the time of writing, there are 116 ratings.

Join in the fun and play some really neat Christmas-themed games over the Christmas/New Year break. Ratings close around 18 or 19 January 2021, depending on your time zone.
