Awe-Chasm deleted.
Re: Duplicate games & games that should be deleted
Duplicate system, rather than duplicate game...
A second entry for the AdventureWriter appears to have been added...
http://solutionarchive.com/list/system%2C139/
...which should be deleted.
As AdventureWriter is just the US version of the Quill.
i.e.

Please delete https://solutionarchive.com/game/id,8913/ and I'll update the older entry instead.
I'm not taking the blame for this one (even though I created it) as I thought Godzilla was by far the superior search term!

Re: Duplicate games & games that should be deleted
Please can someone help with a few submissions I made regarding games that I do not believe should be part of CASA?
The first two are menu driven games with no text input whatsoever:
Mega Bucks:
https://solutionarchive.com/game/id%2C3 ... Bucks.html
Spellbound:
https://solutionarchive.com/game/id%2C5 ... bound.html
(Spellbound is the 2nd of the 4 "Magic Knight" games, but is the only one on CASA)
Camelot is a RPG that happens to share a few input similarities with text adventures (e.g. the compass directions and I for inventory). For confirmation of this you can refer to the instructions on Spectrum Computing.
Camelot:
https://solutionarchive.com/game/id%2C2573/Camelot.html
I have no problem if the site maintainers decide otherwise with any of these entries, but either way can someone please process these from my submissions queue? One has been there since 31/08/2020 and the others since 18/09/2020.
Many thanks, and keep up the great work on this fantastic resource!

Re: Duplicate games & games that should be deleted
Mousey, thank you for your feedback.
I usually defer to Jacob when it comes to removing entries from the database as there a few odd games here. For example, there is the Multiple Choice genre which may not fall strictly under text adventure banner but has never-the-less found a home at CASA. I wonder it the two menu driven games you mention would qualify as multiple choice or something similar.
Camelot from yours and Exemptus's comments however does seem to be an entry that should be removed. I will do so tomorrow unless someone objects.

Re: Duplicate games & games that should be deleted
I would agree with those particular deletions. They're not really examples of the real edge-cases that are currently in the database.
Re: Duplicate games & games that should be deleted
The Magic Knight adventures were one of my favorite games at the time. I know Jacob was a huge fan of theirs too. He even asked me in 2000 if I could send my solutions to Knighttyme and Stormbringer (two of the other Magic Knight games), which I haven't done so far . I'm talking way back in the days of the old website. Over the years, a number of games have been added to the database that are not strictly speaking textadventures. Like Elvira or other icon based adventures or more RPG games. I don't think we should get rid of them all. We just have to be restrictive when adding new ones.
Refering to multiple choice games. Some of them are quite good. I like them because they remind me of choosing your own adventure books like Fighting Fantasy. You don't have to type the commands, but they are text-based.
I agree with Alastair that the Magic Knight games can be seen as a multiple choice version of a joystick controlled adventure like grand larceny or the early Sierra adventures.

Re: Duplicate games & games that should be deleted
I've deleted your submissions as requested. I guess they stayed there because nobody knew how to handle them. I guess it will be Jacob's decision in the end because it is his site.
Re: Duplicate games & games that should be deleted
Camelot deleted, and also the authors C. P. M. Chapman and G. R. Brooks since Camelot was the only program of theirs in the database.
Re: Duplicate games & games that should be deleted
Hey guys, thanks for your swift attention to this, and especially Alex for clearing my submission queue; that's the main thing I wanted!
As to the games themselves and whether they should be a part of CASA, I'm more than happy to defer that decision to other people. I just wanted to notify someone that I had come across these entries that (in my opinion) needed looking at. In future though, I'll do that by posting here rather than submitting it to the site.

Re: Duplicate games & games that should be deleted
Please delete publisher UKACOC as I have moved the only entry into UK Atari Computer Owners Club.
Thanks.
Thanks.
