Re: last prisoner game without a solution
While that is a nice photo of a man in a burnoose, surely that is not Peter O'Toole? Or was an update made?

last prisoner game without a solution
Nice to see that all these games have been sorted out. Thanks folks. I saw that there was one (Francis Shailes' version) that does not have a solution. I tried to play this a little while back, but got stuck. As one needs to find items to eat and drink, time management becomes essential. I haven't b...

Re: New site name?
Should there be any problem with copying a photo that's been copywrited, I have a photo of house of a friend of mine, that was taken over by a movie company who "doctored" it for their shoot. It's a black-and-white photo. I should be able to (with help) create a .jpg file and send it to anyone who c...

Re: Duplicate Prisoner Entries?
Since I posted one solution to one of these games, I would like to make a comment, i.e. I agree with the confusion.
Hope you have some success in solving this dilemma.

Re: investigations
Thanks, Alex
I haven't been playing this for some time. I think I began all over again (or at least I intended to do so), so we'll see how or whether I can manage to get enthused again.

Re: Genre Suggestions
In my book (or game, as it were), a "Pirates" game has swashbuckling, high seas adventure and (often) treasure hunting as an integral part of the gameplay. So, if you were to substitute "pirates" with something else, you'd get a different game. I don't think so. Who is playing the game is in my mind...

Re: Genre Suggestions
How does the theme of "pirates" relate to the type of game? If "pirates" were to be replaced by another "character" would that change the nature of the game?
Re: Get Lamp
I followed the "goodoldtimes" link and found your discussion quote interesting. Some names are familiar to me, some not. I came to gaming later than you both having had one of the Infocom Treasury series recommended to me at a computer store. Back in the TRS-80 days. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy...

Re: Hous of the dead Spectrum
Well, there is a hole at the piano. How do you get down there? I think there is another altar you need to do something to? Push? move? The priest's room? BTW - around the ruined rooms, it seems that when you go east or down/up, or south down/up (can't remember which one it is) you end you at the sam...

Re: Hous of the dead Spectrum
So, the scroll... where is it?
It seems there are holes you make, but can't enter them. At least I haven't found a phrase to do so.

Re: Hous of the dead Spectrum
Thanks to your map I have made a bit more progress, though it's tough since I can't print it.
I have made it to the mausoleum. Found the ring, but the scroll you refer to. What to do with the dust? Nor the spell?
I also can't get past the pikes.
I think I need help.

I played this back in 2007, but never finished it.
Maybe I'll revisit it.

I see you've uploaded the solution too, so I guess I can figure out where I am stuck.

Re: some tech support please
OK - I did this yet once again. And I still get the same message.
I also have a few other screwups going on so I will call my tech guy and see if he can help. I'm a leery of going into the registry and meddling in this myself.
Thanks anyway.

Re: investigations
Yes, it did.
Thanks, Alastair.
Crumb - first the Atari breakdown (which by the way, is still not working, as I do not know what is wrong), and now this. Yeech.
Did it take forever to load as well? Am I just not patient enough?
