Re: Another Classic Ported to TRS-80 MC-10

Yes, I posted the source above. Our entry for Amazing Adventure, also in that issue, gives May 1988 as the date of publication. So I think 1988, especially since it's definitely after 1987 due to the comments in the editorial, is the best bet for that one.

Unknown Origins of BASIC adventures

There are various BASIC text adventures in the database that probably started their life as type-in listings but, along the way, have been credited to other people. So I'm just putting some gradually in this thread in case anyone spots any similarities between other games or later comes across the o...

Another BASIC game typed in for TRS-80 MC-10: https://youtu.be/9Mkgaa31lVI noname.png A tiny type-in for TRS-80 and "Commodore" I see. https://archive.org/details/medium-res-your-computer-bumper-book-of-programs-v-2-optimized-optimized/page/59 Presumably the book was published 1987+ given the intro...

Re: Linking to outside walkthroughs?

Nice to have you posting on here, David. Your ongoing walkthrough project is excellent and always seems to have an interesting mix of games covered. I always check out the list of which games you've covered when you post the updates on IFDB and it's always nice when I notice an old school game from ...

Re: Westfront to Apse - 2 entries the same?

I've removed them as requested as it may be that we can agree a consensus here, based on what you find out by playing them, and also as I know some of the other contributors/admins/editors are more familiar with Paul's work and may chip in. For reference, for anyone interested, here are some of Paul...

Re: Westfront to Apse - 2 entries the same?

Yeah, I started looking at Paul's old websites the other week, in order to update a few of the entries on the site. Not all of Paul's notes about his various games agree with each other (depending on which sites and which readmes you look at) so I decided that any decisions regarding amalgamating en...

Re: Westfront to Apse - 2 entries the same?

Paul's own writing about the game is confusing... he regarded Mythic Castle as the C64 version of the original Westfront to Apse. But then he went on to make another specific C64 version of the game which he released as Westfront to Apse.

Re: Author - Who to credit?

Yes, all three if it's the case that's the original version of the game. If it is a port from another system, then you'd put the original team as the authors and list any people involved in doing the port in the notes section. That way it's always clear who is responsible for the initial version of ...

Re: C64 - Adventure 1 The Mutant Spiders

I guess The Mutant Spiders, The Ship, and The Fourth Sarcophagus could technically be grouped together as they are a numbered series. Handic Software look like an interesting outfit. An early Swedish software company for the Vic and C64. A publication of theirs mentioning the games https://archive.o...

Board attachment limit reached

Apparently, according to an error message I've been getting, the limit has been reached on the amount of attachments the board will accept. I'm not sure if that's a personal limit or a board-wide one.

Re: presserving newer titles by John Wilson

Regarding your comment in the submission queue about John & Twine adventures. John actually wrote several adventures with Twine in 2011/2012. I'd not tagged or put them in the database as they're not parser based, and I don't think CASA really covers Twine games (there are some existing ones in the ...
