Re: Another Classic Ported to TRS-80 MC-10

I have ported the text adventure made by 10 year old Jason Dyer back in the 1980s from GWBASIC to TRS-80 Micro Color BASIC. Changed the parser to standard two-word format. Added a little Vampire Bunny to the title screen. Shortened descriptions. Fits in 20K now.
Walkthrough's work, except you must ...

Re: Another Classic Ported to TRS-80 MC-10

Not sure if "A Bator Lovag" is the same game or not. I did my port from C16 code, and the title screen is definitely "A Hos Lovag".

In any case, my translation to English perhaps warrants its own distinct entry under the title "Hero Knight." I also have done a walkthrough of ...

Re: Another Classic Ported to TRS-80 MC-10

"A Hos Lovag" (Hero Knight) is one of the first text adventures programmed in Hungarian. Ported from the Commodore C16 to the MC-10 and translated to English. Source is here: https://github.com/jggames/trs80mc10/tr ... s/HosLovag

I have updated my Type-in programs pages, including the one with all the text adventures I have ported to, translated to English, or recoded in Micro Color Basic.

Re: new member and mulldoon

Hey Brennan,

Welcome. Don't know if I can be much help. I just make Basic games for an old eight bit computer computer from Tandy/Radio Shack. If you ever have need for a eight bit Basic programmer, I'm your man.

Re: Another Classic Ported to TRS-80 MC-10

I'm not sure it's a "CYOA" game. Aren't those games (or books) where you make choices that lead to different possible alternate endings? This one is just an immensely simple "menu driven" adventure in Basic. You must figure out the single solution by figuring out the "right" menu selection for each ...

Re: An Actor's Nightmare (TRS-80 CoCo)

Although it might not work in this case. Typing:
PCLEAR1 <Enter>
before loading a program can free up space for very large BASIC programs that don't use graphics.

Here's a walkthrough that might help in your debugging.

In this context, "treason" means porting from Spectrum to MC10.
