Re: Saigon: The Final Days (Atari 400/800 & TRS-80)

You're not searching hard enough. It's Other Venture #5. It is listed in the Other Ventures tri-pack manual, along with Curse of Crowley Manor , Earthquake - San Francisco 1906 and Escape from Traam . On pages 5-8, it has loading instructions for Apple II disk, Atari 16k tape, Atari disk, TRS-80 ...

Re: Saigon: The Final Days (Atari 400/800 & TRS-80)

It's most definitely one of the Other Venture series. I bought it for the Atari 400/800 back in the day (and solved it). From memory, it was also available for the Apple II. Not sure about other platforms. I must dig out my notes and map.

Re: Clarification about conversions

And when I get back to the C64 one of these days, I'll do my little bit to help with the cleanup.

Re: Clarification about conversions

So what classifies as originally released platform in case of type-in games?

The version of BASIC that it was originally written in. This is always clearly stated in the book or magazine where it was originally published. For example, if an adventure was published in The Captain 80 book of BASIC ...

Re: Clarification about conversions

This is Jacob's web site and he has the ultimate say. However, I think Strident summed it up well. If it's an "official" conversion, it's listed. If it's an "unofficial" conversion, it's not listed, but unofficial conversions can (and should) be mentioned in notes. This is what I try to do when ...

Adventuron Halloween Jam is ready for voting

The Adventuron Halloween Jam is currently underway. This is the second Adventuron game jam. This time around, the adventure had to have a halloween theme and had to include a spooky house, a graveyard, a skeleton and a bell. It had to have at least 4 puzzles and it had to have illustrations for at ...

Re: Moonstone (Atari 130xe)

It's a small game with 16 rooms written in Atari BASIC. It starts in the escape tube of a submarine. There's only a closed hatch and you are carrying top secret plans.

As the game unfolds, you come across a dead captain and a saboteur. You have to use an aqualung to explore outside the submarine ...

Really? I knew he was into music, but I didn't know he did adventure-related music. I'll have to check it out.

Re: Moonstone (Atari 130xe)

Ha, ha, ha. I just watched the video. That was actually quite funny. The author bags his own game.

When I was writing for Page 6 , the publisher, Les Ellingham, sent me half a dozen or so adventures to review prior to putting them in the Page 6 public domain library. I played them all and wrote ...

Re: Moonstone (Atari 130xe)

Moonstone was issued as a disk bonus with Page 6 , issue 34, July/August 1988. The instructions are on p. 23.

I haven't played it myself, but I do have a solution by John E. (TEBSF). I haven't submitted it, as I don't have John's permission to do so. However, I'm sure he won't mind if I note his ...

Adventuron CaveJam and Halloween Jam

The forum has been very quiet lately. Here's something that will (hopefully) get your attention.

Over the last couple of years, Chris Ainsley has been working very hard on an adventure authoring tool called Adventuron. There's also a cut-down version called Adventuron Classroom that he is targeting ...

Re: new member and mulldoon

Hi Brennen. How are you going with The Mulldoon Legacy ? I see that no one has given you any hints yet, so I loaded it onto my mobile phone and had a bit of a dabble, then had a more serious attempt tonight.

Did you find anything in the long east-west corridor west of the foyer? If not, the brick ...

Re: Seeking adventure from 'DCW Magazine' for Atari 8-bit

Everybody stop looking. It has been found. As I didn't get any response from CASA members, I asked on the AtariAge forum and was able to get in contact with Richard Vermeulen. He very quickly dug out the disk, converted it to disk images (it was double sided) and posted the files on this forum ...

Re: new member and mulldoon

The game in question is The Mulldoon Legacy by Jon Ingold. It's a Z-code game and can be downloaded from all the usual places including the IF Archive. I haven't played it myself, but it's had nothing but rave reviews. It won the Annual IF Comp in 1999. It was previously discussed at this thread ...
