Re: The Next Adventure Jam

itch.io is a very stable platform, so the games are likely to stay there until the author removes them. However, it is very hard to find them in amongst the tens of thousands of other games on itch.io. It would be nice to have them all linked from one place and to have a downloadable version so that ...

Rite of the Druid

'Rite of the Druid' is one of the games submitted for The Next Adventure Jam. A few of us are playing the game and we all seem to be stuck at the same place. Can anyone help?

I have discovered 19 locations. I have some silver coins, a snake skin, a selection of shells and a small cauldron that I ...

The Next Adventure Jam

I wasn't sure whether to post this under modern or classic, but because the theme is more classic than modern, I've posted it here.

The 4th Adventuron game jam was running from 6 June to 5 July 2020. This one was called 'The Next Adventure Jam', as contributors were encouraged to port a version of ...

Re: The Orion Quest c64

This is different to the other two files on 8bitfiles and it shows the recorder in the first location, so, on the surface, it looks like a good file.

Received. Thanks. I can see the recorder on the first screen.

You were right, though. It sure does take a long time to load.

Gotcha. In that case, I wouldn't mind a copy too. It's got me a bit intrigued.

Re: The Orion Quest c64

I did some poking around on 8bitfiles and both copies that I found were bad. They were both disk images. Are you saying there's a tape image?

Re: Gilsoft PAW/Quill

My word-processor was constantly trying to change flagno to flagon. :) I was bound to miss one.

If you're using Microsoft Word, turn off anything that says "auto" or "smart", as "auto" means it will automatically screw up your document and "smart" means it's dumb.

Re: Castle Blackstar - Getting past the dragon

I haven't played the game myself, but having read your description, it actually sounds like a well-crafted puzzle, providing the appropriate in-game hints and responses are there. For example, when killing the dragon with the sword, if it says something like "the dragon thrashes about and falls dead ...

The full English translation is now complete! Same link (above).

Looks good. Just one trap for the unwary. When you copy and paste the BASIC listing into BeebEm, it looks like there's a limit on how much you can paste. Do a LIST after the paste. If the last line listed is not the last line of ...

Re: Rainbow Adventure / Jorge Mir

You won't find it listed for the TRS-80, because it's a CoCo game. ( The Rainbow was a CoCo magazine.) It probably runs on a TRS-80, as their BASICs are almost identical, except for the addition of graphics and sound commands on the CoCo. I haven't tried it and I don't know which TRS-80 model it ...

Re: There are sufficient new games in the queue...

Great work guys. There's easily 10,000 games out there. All we need is the time and energy to get them all entered...and get all 10,000 with maps, solutions and screen grabs!

Re: Does 'De Tijdmachine' exist for Spectrum ZX?

Hi. Could anyone direct me to the BBC BASIC version of this game, please? I can't seem to find it online anywhere.

I've emailed you what I have. Unfortunately, I don't remember where I got it. If it's hard to find, maybe we could add it to CASA as a fixed game? Now that Jim Gerrie has done an ...

Re: Lost Apple II commercial text adventure game

SoftSide adventures sent.

'Curse of the Sasquatch' is a machine language game for the TRS-80. I haven't heard of 'Search for the Sasquatch', so I can't help with that one. The only Greg Hassett game that I've come across for the Apple II is 'Journey to the Center of the Earth', but this may have ...
