Juleadventurespil type-in from 'Hjemmedata'

Can someone check the entry for Juleadventurespil at https://solutionarchive.com/game/id%2C7687/Juleadventurespil.html. According to the database, it's a Danish game that appeared as a type-in listing in 'Hjemmedata' December 1983. However, I just downloaded 'Hjemmedata' December 1983 and there is ...

Re: Steve W. Lucas games

I have the Electric Adventures 'Pyramid' credited to Tony Cruise. It's quite likely that he ported one of the other Steve Lucas versions and released it, possibly commercially.

I have another Electric Dreams game called 'Escape from Planet Beta' (not in the CASA database), also credited to Tony ...

Re: Mixed up screenshot

The screen grabs for the Amstrad game are definitely wrong.

Re: Adventure Master

That's true. It's an extensive rewrite (as I didn't have the original) with enhancements, extra puzzles and more descriptive text. I haven't used PunyInform yet. I guess I should give it a go at some point.

Re: Adventure Master

A friend of mine wrote an adventure for the Atari 8-bit using Adventure Master and it was very good. It was called 'Pirate's Booty' by Steve Bradbury. Unfortunately, it was not published anywhere and I can no longer access the files. On the off chance that anyone has a copy, I'd love to get it on ...

Re: Adventuron Christmas Jam

The submission period was extended by 44 hours. There were 24 people registered and 12 submissions. That's a 50% submission rate, which exceeds the past rate of around 25%.

You can now play and rate all the games from the submissions page . These are all classic, parser-based text adventures, not ...

Re: Platform of Adventuron games

Contrary to what I said earlier, some Adventuron games have been compiled to run on 8-bit platforms such as Spectrum Next. When this is the case (not very many), this should also be included as a platform.

Re: Platform of Adventuron games

Adventuron is a system, not a platform, so there shouldn't be any games listed under Adventuron as a platform. The only appropriate system is browser, as that's what it runs on. All modern games run in just about any browser on just about any platform, including mobile, although iOS is too ...

So, I'll have to play John Olsen's game first, then play Steve Lucas' game and note the differences. Thanks for the info.

Re: Steve W. Lucas games

When I embarked on the collection of type-in adventures from books and magazines, it quickly became evident that Steve Lucas was the most prolific author in the English-speaking adventure community. He did the community a great service in the early days. It's just a pity that his parser and his ...

Re: Steve W. Lucas games

Yep, that's definitely the same. When merging them, the primary source should be the first one that was published.

Note that there is also a C64 game called 'The Pyramid'. I was never able to find the source of that one. Now that we can see the three solutions, it looks like the C64 version is an ...

Re: Plagiarised game

Are you sure? I haven't played Frankenstein Adventure yet, but I haven't noticed any plagiarism in his other games - at least not the ones I've played. It is not unusual for authors to borrow ideas from other games, but plagiarism should at least be credited as a port of another game.

Re: Steve W. Lucas games

Yes, you're right. I have played a lot of Steve Lucas games and I have more info to contribute when time permits. The trouble with Steve Lucas games (apart from the fact that they're always buggy) is that even though they may appear to be the same based on the initial screen grab, there are ...

Re: When can I expect my submissions to be approved?

There's no such thing as queuing too much. It's more important that we get the information. I've had times when I've had up to 100 things queued. I've currently got a few things queued that have been there for months. Everyone that works on CASA are volunteers and they do a great job. Rest assured ...
