Yes, I've got the disk image, but I couldn't tell you where I got it. I know that I spent a hell of a lot of time tracking down Atari ST adventures. I must update the entries on CASA one of these days, as the ST coverage is very poor.
The Type Fantastic reference is how I found out which magazine ...

Re: R. D. Foord... type-in mystery
That is 100% correct. ST Adventure Writing System (or ST_AWS) was written by R D Foord in GFA BASIC 2 and, according to the doco, is based on The Quill. It comes with three sample adventures: Rooms, Demo and Timeswitch. In the opening screen for Timeswitch, it says it is "based on Timeslide by K ...

Aw, shucks. You noticed. There were 9 entries. I've submitted maps and solutions for all of them, except 'The Job'. I've actually done a map and solution for that one too, but Fredrik has done a new release, so I'll check that before submitting.

PunyJam #1 games are ready for playing and judging
For those of you that don't follow all the IF social media, you may be unaware that there is a (relatively) new library for Inform 6 called PunyInform that makes it easier for an author to write an Infocom style game using the Inform 6 programming language and publish that game for 8-bit and 16-bit ...

Re: Appleton/The Village... Original source?
I searched through my Dragon games and couldn't find anything with Appleton or Village in the title. I have a very good collection of CoCo adventures and couldn't find anything there either. I also searched through all the book and magazine type-ins and couldn't find anything close on any platform ...

Re: ADRIFT platforms
Alright. No mention of emulators.
I won't be doing this anyway, as I'm not into PC games and don't have the equipment or the expertise to know what works on what.

Agreed. Something like "Requires MS-DOS or an emulator such as DOSBox" or "Requires Windows 7 or later".

Re: ADRIFT platforms
Doing a split sounds like it's going to be too much trouble. I think the best we can do is rely on contributors to add notes on system requirements. This will at least give us an idea whether supplementary software (such as an emulator) is needed on modern platforms.

Re: ADRIFT platforms
For now, I think we have to rely on contributors updating the notes with any information they think necessary to tell you what you need to run the game. I think I did that when I updated all the Alan games a few years ago (these were 2.5, 2.6, 2.8 and 3.0) and I could do it for the Adrift games too ...

Re: ADRIFT platforms
The lack of detail on CASA always annoys me, but I've learnt to live with it. I'd prefer the system to be Adrift and the platform to be Adrift 3.9, Adrift 4.0 or Adrift 5.0, so that you know exactly which interpreter you need to play it.

Re: Steve W. Lucas games
Thanks, Alex. That is very helpful. I think I used CSAVE to save it to an empty cas file, but it was still 0 bytes long after the CSAVE. I'll add these notes to my hints 'n' tips file for MSX.

Re: Steve W. Lucas games
If it's an MSX game you don't have to type in the listing on an emulator.
I never use an emulator to type in listings. I always do what you suggested. It's much quicker and easier. Depending on the emulator, it is sometimes awkward to get the BASIC text file into the emulator, but the MSX is ...

Re: Steve W. Lucas games
I sincerely doubt that it's got an errata sheet. Even if it does, it's unlikely that it would still be in a library book.
