Re: Mexican Adventure

I'm happy to give it a go! If you think it would be useful!

I've tended to try and add to the notes section, mentioning the specific machine whenever I've researched particular games. If there are any particular ones that you can add information for then that would be always welcomed, I think ...

CP/M Adventure Creator "game40" and related games

I've just come across a (fairly basic) CP/M adventure creator that doesn't seem to have been documented in very many places.

It was originally written by David Goodenough, some time before 1990, and was later expanded by Larry Schnitger to handle bigger games.

There's a "tiny" demonstration ...

Re: Mexican Adventure

Ah, it's a little confusing that we have MZ-80A and MZ-700 lumped together under one tag on the site... but it'd take an expert to go through and split that category up. ;)

Re: Mexican Adventure

I will take a look at the Quilled version of the game at some point... If only because I really enjoyed the Broadhurst's other game in the end and I'd love to see how it relates to what seems to be the Sharp MZ original.

For those who want to take a look at the Sharpsoft game, here's our entry for ...

Oh, nothing at all. I've just never been that bothered about Infocom. So many adventures out there to play, I've just used that as my dividing line.

The author, Scott, is a regular on the 8-bit adventure FB group and is active on Twitter. He's been a great help with tracking down details of Australian C64 releases, due to his publishing/distribution work.

I must update the links on the site to his blog, which seems to have moved to...

Well, I'll say "Hello!" even if nobody else has... and even, though we already "talk" elsewhere. ;)

Your recent video should be of interest to those on here who might want to explore Sharp MZ text adventures using an emulator...

Re: Another Classic Ported to TRS-80 MC-10

Interesting how, in the previous issue, it was presented as a written "choose your own adventure" story... http://www.ataricompendium.com/archives/magazines/enter/enter_mar85.pdf
I guess the game could be adapted to add all the extra text.

(Adding a link here to the issue with the game code in ...

Re: Colossal Cave Adventure (Anubis Software)

You heretic!

I'm not at all bothered about Infocom, either. ;)

Colossal Cave and Infocom weren't particularly part of my text adventure journey (although I did play a couple of Infocom games) so I have no real nostalgia for those titles.

In this particular adaptation, the emerald blocking ...

Re: Colossal Cave Adventure (Anubis Software)

I've asked the author Ross and he says he doesn't remember releasing a bug-fixed version.

The bugs are technically very easy to fix. The gazette object just needs to have its starting location set appropriately, rather than not created as originally. Flag 17 just needs to be SET at the appropriate ...

Re: Colossal Cave Adventure (Anubis Software)

I'll ask Ross if he can remember ever doing a bug fix for the game. There may be another version out there that needs to be archived.

The gazette does start as not created and there isn't any create code in the version of the game I'm looking at so, yes, that seems to be another bug too.

What ...
