The Infocom games were the first I ever played. I bought the entire collection (complete with hints), and worked my way through all of them. The Hitchhickers Guide to the Galaxy, despite the hints (which I played because I loved the books and the television show), had me incredibly baffled. Hours ...

Beware Collaborators

I am stuck in this game. It's a Spectrum game available on W of S. There are two versions, one for the 48 and one for the 128. They appear to be essentially the same game, with the same locations, just more descriptions and HELP available in the longer, 128 version.

Where I am stuck is I cannot ...

You have made good progress if you already have the paint.

You get the bracelet by hugging Pete.

You can't use the ultrasound or even take it until you have the guidebook about how to use it. It will help you meet the sorcerer's request.

The Ferris hologram is used very close to the end so don't ...

Re: brick - you need to examine the wall where aphrodite is.
Re: egg. I'm not sure what you mean by following you to the 5p stall. I just gave the 5p. I presume you have the 5 pence? The Faberge egg is not to be obtained. Just a joke I guess.

Dorothy played on the C-64 (many, many games). Her solution is for the C-64. So it must have been updated, or "translated" from the TRS-80.

Dorothy made no mention of bonus points, only that you get 175 total. The game she wrote the solution for was written in 1979. Maybe you are playing an updated version?

Here are some hints from Dorothy Millard:

Notes
There are a number of random elements in the game and it may take a number of attempts to complete it.
• MUMMY - When the mummy walks in BURN MUMMY (must be carrying the matches).
• GOOBER - When the Goober enters DROP SNAKE, LOOK (the Goober sees the ...

Is this part of a trilogy of Doom games written by Peter Killworth? If yes, I have played it/them. Very frustrating. I seem to remember being on a boat with a limited number of moves. There were lots of puzzles like that. I believe I did finish the games but only with his help - he was very obliging ...

Behind the Lines

Anyone interested in playing this Spectrum game (available at W of S) with me? The humour is a touch adolescent, and there appear to be useless objects, but...

Some questions:

Anything to do in the kitchen? At the toilet? What to do at the pub - a man asks for your name?

I have managed to get the ...

Well, the game may not be great, but for closure's sake, should one not finish something one starts, unless it's unfinishable? After a while it's a matter of principle.

Yes, I know, the butch guard isn't killable at the beginning.

Some days everything frustrates me.

Ha! I am pretty sure when I downloaded the game originally, this "fixed" version was not available.

So, I'm gonna have to go through all those "random" elements yet once again. Aaargh!!!

Someday when my kitchen is functional again....

Nevertheless, thanks Geoff.
