I'm trying to KISS (keep it simple, stupid), but I'm not further ahead than you. What does one do with a senile guard? Giving the phonebook doesn't help. St. Alban's should be a clue of some sort. I thought maybe there would be a key at the bottom of the pool, but there isn't. Not to mention John at ...

Re: Part 2:

I've mapped it and found the available objects. I found the cold man, but don't know what to buy in the shop (if at all).
A little nudge would be nice.

Mistakes in this game - the available exits and the descriptions don't match. Not a big deal, since the number of locations is small.

So the shower is a red herring?

Thanks for the hints Doreen, but I am no further ahead.

I have been dim-witted all week. None of the objects work at the bridge, or at the swan, or at the grassy area. Though I may not have the right verb. I haven't tried then at the shower. What good would they be at a shower? Maybe being logical ...

holiday - e.j.spicer

I am stuck quite early in this three-part Amstrad game (available at NVG).

I can't use the shower. You can turn the dial for the water, but how to get in?

Also at the swan - what to do - the apple doesn't work.

Help would be nice to have.

Thanks guys, but no need to include me. Be reasonable here. One hint does not a solution make. I didn't even get to play part 2 - you were done so fast.

Re: unpawing games.

I keep another Spectrum emulator available, for these purposes. I save the game (.sna or.z80), then open it in the other ...

And I thought I was making progress...

I was going to give some hints...but you probably already did these:

Don't chop the tree until you get the hints at the fountain.

Cross the bridge carefully first.

I will try and catch up.

Everyone seems to be approaching this from a slightly different angle.
I did not get the brass key from the elf.

At the boulder I used the help of the dwarf (so apparently you shouldn't kill him). Keep trying - it's those random elements...

The tinderbox (in your house?) Drat, I gotta go back to ...

Nice game. Though I can't say I like the randon elements.

How does one retrieve the stuff the elf took from you?

I think you had better send me the solution in a pm.

I am still going around in circles. If you don't drink the liquid in the jerrycan right away, you can't do it later.

I still get the message when I am in the sleigh that I can't fly it.

I can put the toys back in, so my sense of "satisfaction ...

Aaaah - and here I thought you needed to deliver the sack to Santa so he could deliver the toys. No, I hadn't considered that I needed to empty the sack first.

Well, at least I don't have to start from the beginning.

Let you know how I made out.

Well, it is still not as simple as it appears.

I went into the house first, even though I couldn't get everything out. So I tried again, getting into the compound place first.

I couldn't place anything into the sack. I tried dropping, putting, etc. having dropped the sack. I tried INTO, INSIDE ...

Thanks Doreen

I am sure I tried DIAL as the verb, but maybe I typed in numerals, not words. I did get the 2 4 0 bit.

These things are sent to try me, I know.

I'll see how I get along from here.

I'm still stuck.

Is it an anagram of some kind? Is the answer numerical or alphabetical? Or am I on the wrong track altogether?

Shouldn't it be a Christmas theme answer? :)

A few more hints please?

Yes, I found the motto, but didn't get it. Ok I'll
think some more about it.

Thanks for the verb.
