Re: Duplicate games & games that should be deleted

I've deleted Schatten über London.

With regards to Fun City, should it be deleted or should it come under the "joke" genre? (See the M25! thread for an earlier discussion on what qualifies as a joke game. Does Fun City come under Hannes's definition?)

Re: Duplicate games & games that should be deleted

Done.

It looks like we will need to resolve the Conrad Knopf/Conrad Button conundrum.

(Jacob, for the remaining entry you will have to add your name to the "Users who have solved this game.")

Hold the front page!

I'm updating this post but you can still read my original post below the dashed line.

I've found a PDF copy of The Visionary Programmer's Handbook at https://www.mocagh.org/loadpage.php?query=[publisher]Oxxi (scroll down to the bottom half of the page) a book written by John R ...

Re: Lost Apple II commercial text adventure game

I uploaded the instruction page pdf to CASA last night, but I am not sure if it was actually received.

It was successfully uploaded and is now available at CASA.

Re: Clarification about conversions

Unfortunately, this policy does not seem to apply to C64 games. The C64 entries are essentially just a dump of what's on GameBase64 and there are dozens, if not hundreds, of unofficial conversions, especially type-ins. And they don't even give credit to the original games, original game names ...

Re: Clarification about conversions

As far as I understand it, and this is what I personally prefer when adding new information to the database, is that only official conversions should be listed in the platform section. Any unofficial/fan conversions can be mentioned in the notes section.
To the best of my knowledge this remains ...

Re: An Actor's Nightmare (TRS-80 CoCo)

There is some good news for Mac users on the XRoar front, Ciaran can now develop the MacOSX version on Mac hardware.

For details and a link to the page containing the latest snapshot DMG see http://archive.worldofdragon.org/phpBB3 ... =5&p=17666

Re: An Actor's Nightmare (TRS-80 CoCo)

What does the Command-F trick do exactly?

From the above linked thread, it appears that just the video freezes (perhaps due to an SDL issue?) and XRoar is still working, pressing Command-F twice switches the emulator to full screen and back and somehow resets the video. As to why it works, I do ...

Re: An Actor's Nightmare (TRS-80 CoCo)

The menu item for loading disk-images and tape-images just causes the emulator to freeze.
You are not the only one to experience this problem, see if pressing command-F twice fixes the problem (taken from the thread http://archive.worldofdragon.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5464&p=14608#p14608 ...

Re: An Actor's Nightmare (TRS-80 CoCo)

I think I did install VCC [ edit: not VCC -- it was a different CoCo emulator! ] in a Windows VM on my Mac, but as I recall it was a bit fiddly to use.
There are emulators available for the Mac.

Alongside the Mac version of MAME there are Mac builds for XRoar - http://www.6809.org.uk/xroar ...
