Re: Catacombs/Cornucopia

I've been playing around with Catacombs and also trying to decode the messages hidden in the program. Within the web messages I have semi-decoded the following:
It worked a þ5the ªstuck to the @ªand has been ü—ý«
Which I take as "It worked a treat(?) the (something) stuck to the web (or spider ...

Hmm. What could we have that smells so bad for the Death Rider's Horse?
I may be wrong but I read it as the smell from the "whoopsie" is assailing your nostrils.

Oddly enough I wasn't on this site at half-past-three in the morning (my time) so I've only just approved Uka's post. Alex and Strident, you may wish to go back and read that post.

Diamond Trail and Magic Castle - the lost Dragon versions

For anyone wondering about the Dragon versions of Diamond Trail and Magic Castle the information comes from near the end of a six hour "Dragon Talk" video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNDDh1ZLkYg&t=19712s - in a section where Tim Gilberts describes Gilsoft's use of a Dragon to help run the ...

Re: The Guild/The Guild Adventure Software

I can manually change over all The Guild references to The Guild Adventure Software... but if there is a quicker, higher-level admin way to do it then that would probably be better.

There is an admin tool that may do this but I was told not to touch it! So I will have to leave it to Jacob to run ...

Re: SC-3000 Rabbit Hole... Unlisted Adventures

If MAME is causing headaches you could try either MAMEUI or MESSUI (if you don't care about console emulation), see https://messui.1emulation.com/ or https://arcade.mameworld.info/messui/

Not only do these versions contain an integrated front-end but they also have an optional menubar available ...

Don't trust the board, the statistics may say 1000 but if you add up all of the topics on the front page you get 1010. We have the mystery of the missing topics!

Re: Uploading game

Hello and welcome back.

When you say "upload a game" do you mean uploading the actual game program, or do you mean creating a new game entry on the site?

If it is the former then generally speaking we will accept fixed programs (when the original games are so bugged that it is not possible to ...

Re: Appleton/The Village... Original source?

Do we know if Walter Pooley also wrote the original version? It could be that it was the original Dragon version that was never released and he later Quilled his own game.

Re: Appleton/The Village... Original source?

An update.

I have looked through all of the issues of Dragon User, the Dragon program listing books I own, and any additional English language Dragon program listing book I could find at the Dragon Archive and I have been unable to find any game that matches the plot or name of the Quilled title.

Re: Appleton/The Village... Original source?

The name and plot don't resonate with me, perhaps it was one of those games advertised in the small ads. I'll have a look though Dragon User, I just need to resist the temptation of reading any of the articles - so many hours/days/weeks can be lost that way!

Re: ADRIFT platforms

Also, Alastair suggested that it would be sufficient to split the Windows titles into a separate group, but shouldn't PC Booter also have its own entry?

I don't see why PC Booter should have its own entry. Think of it this way, how many people will run the older PC titles native on hardware ...

Re: ADRIFT platforms

I'm still of the opinion that a need has been shown that we should separate the modern Windows OS games from the other PC platforms, but no need has been shown that further separation within the non-Windows games is necessary. Creating a new "Windows OS" category and leaving everything else in the ...
