Just thought; having looked at the code, the score is based on 3 things: Number of fish you kill
Number of rooms you visit
Number of items got (you just have to GET item, then DROP it, e.g. the pots and pans, or the phone book) I managed to get it to 99% without exploiting the panel bug, it's up ...

So, the dustbin lid is a red herring. Any more that I've forgotten. Though I don't suppose hints for this game would be very helpful.

It isn't: it's used as a protection to enter the box room (there's a hint about a dustbin or waste or something similar). You'll die if you don't have it...

I'm ...

Is the screwdriver necessary?

It's used in the chimney (through the fireplace).

I thought I had tried everything in the storeroom.

You probably have; there's a box room, to the far West of the landing, which I had to pull the key number from the code for as the only hint I can find for what ...

Can you give a hint about where to use the ring?
You need to wear it to enter the clean room. If you don't you die.

And the attic, unless it's logical from after you use the ring?
There's a stack of boxes in the box-room than you can use.

The batteries, I presume are for a torch to go into ...

dave wrote:I think I've finished it now (but I only had a score of 83% - so there may be more).
I've managed to get it up to 99% by getting into the west room, the attic and the fireplace.

I've found a use for the ring, the batteries and the mouse.

Re: Die you vicious fish

We need to clean/wash the mouse which I think is needed to give to the cat who will then follow you

I think I've finished it now (but I only had a score of 83% - so there may be more).

The mouse can be cleaned with something in the toilet, which you need something from the manager's office to go ...

I tried at the manager's door to use the poker (the sign says don't poke your nose in there), but either I haven't the correct verb, or that's not the answer.

Can't imagine what else the poker is good for.

Ah; it's not too complicated; use the same verb you used for the window, this'll allow you ...

When I did it I got 331; so it is probably random!

You don't need the lamb to draw water. If you do "DRAW WATER" or "LOWER BUCKET WELL" you should get some water.

Yep it is a GAC adventure and it found another bug in my code (though nothing to help with 12 lost souls).

Unfortunately I made the mistake of looking at the source; so I'll drop hints if asked, but won't play through it. Though it seems that Doreen has done a lot of it already!

Just as an update I've just completed Gideon's Gamble; and I'd say about it: "Don't bother"; it's too illogical and the end bit goes really mad on the mapping.

The last puzzle is trying to find out which exact combination of objects gives you a score of exactly 200 points. Going over doesn't work!

I use Atari800Win, which you can get from http://atariarea.krap.pl/PLus/files/Atari800Win%20PLus%204.0.exe .

If you follow the "D" link in the URL in Juan's post you can get the game. Inside the zip file there's an .atr file, which you can just double click on to load it and run the disc image.

Doesn't strike any bells; though I've mainly been doing BBC text adventures at the moment.

I'm currently working on Gideon's Gamble (Superior Software); though it is a bit annoying as it has lots of invisible stuff and things that solve puzzles because it's the right item and there is nothing to ...

Try using a sticky object to hold the button down.

The password doesn't seem to be given in the rest of the adventure, so I don't mind giving a clue to this:

Think of a archaic encryption technology.
