Re: Printing Basic listings from VICE emulator

Thanks - I already have DirMaster but I had never used it for BASIC listings. Works like a charm :D

Re: Westfront to Apse - 2 entries the same?

I looked some more into Enchanter:Westfront to Apse (EWtA) and Mystic Castle (MC). Though MC is very much inspired by EWtA they are different enough to be regarded as different games. Later, Paul found a way to port EWtA (a C128 game) directly to C64 by putting the location descriptions on a disk im...

Re: Printing Basic listings from VICE emulator

Thanks, that worked very well for the VICE c64 emulator x64. For some reason I can't get it to work with the VICE c128 emulator x128.exe, not even in c64 mode. I wonder if the output file is just put somewhere else and I don't know where to look. I tried resetting to default settings but that did no...

Printing Basic listings from VICE emulator

Hi, I am trying to inspect some of the BASIC games by Paul Allen Panks and it would make things a whole lot easier if there was a way to print a BASIC listing from VICE to e.g. pdf so I could then search for terms in the pdf. I see there are some printer options in VICE but I have no idea on how to ...

Re: Westfront to Apse - 2 entries the same?

That's a good point. I am currently playing the "first" Westfront game (Enchanter: Westfront to Apse) though it is a remake because the original was lost and only partly recovered. It is a C128 game in 40 column mode with maps (sort of). I will post my findings here. Feel free to delete my two recen...

Re: Westfront to Apse - 2 entries the same?

Yes, it is all quite confusing. I just did two updates on the CASA entry for "Enchanter: Westfront to Apse" but we might as well wait carrying these out until I/some have looked more into it. By now I have learned the following: The original first game was for C128 and named "Enchanter: West Front t...

Westfront to Apse - 2 entries the same?

Hi, I was just wondering why we have the following games: Enchanter - Westfront to Apse Paul Allen Panks 1995 English Westfront to Apse Paul Allen Panks ??? English Are they not the same? I know there are both a C64 version and a C128 version which are close to identical though the C64 version has c...

Re: Z-code versions of Dorothy Millard's games incl. menus

Thanks, it would be good to fix those. However, I never really used Inform 6 (except PunyInform briefly). As far as I remember, UnQuill gave me automatically a z-code file which is what I have published. However, I played through the z-code version and did not notice any bugs so it is very much play...

Re: Z-code versions of Dorothy Millard's games incl. menus

UnQuilled version played perfectly well with a Windows Z-code interpreter which was my main concern. I don't agree with that. UnQuill has some difficulties to decode text messages, there are often too many line feeds; there are also some bugs in the interpretation of the Quill behaviour (at least f...

Re: presserving newer titles by John Wilson

You are probably right that there isn't a big issue in making them available somewhere. I just think it would be neat if e.g. his PunyInform games could run from the "Play Online"-button on IFDB as more people would probably play them. Uploading them to the IF Archive would be a simple solution but ...

presserving newer titles by John Wilson

I am pretty sure the old Zenobi titles can be found in a lot of places on the internet but I think it is a shame if John Wilson's newer games get lost. They were probably all published under "pension productions" and they were freely available. However, before his death he wrote this: (24 january 20...
