Re: The Pawn on the Commodore 128k
If you mean a version that ran exclusively on the C128, no, I don't think that existed. A dedicated 128 version was announced, that's true enough, but it seems to never have been released.

Re: Tourist Trouble (Spectrum) solution is wrong
You are on the right track. You need to WEAR RING first, but the right words then are SAY AMEN instead of PRAY.

Re: Spectrum solution errors: Solaris (part 2)
Objects on the map are listed at the SE corner of rooms, not SW corners. You can see that the "Steps" location has the object "rope" by its lower-right corner. The same goes for the rest, so the right location is the one immediately to the left of the one you are trying to reach.

Re: (Mostly) AI solution
The idea has some merit, but I'm not surprised output is inconsistent because it's very unlikely that models have been trained on this kind of material (decompiled source to sequenced solution). Theoretically, nothing prevents a model from doing a reasonably good job when the adventure is totally ...

Re: Spectrum solution errors: Solaris (part 2)
There's no way I'm playing a Softel game
Indeed. This one needs a strong breakfast.
Incidentally, quite a few solutions are incorrect as they are written, but many times it's because of game version differences. Others have typos or skip some obvious steps. I normally write down corrections on ...

Solved / Playing buttons have stopped working
I just clicked on the "I have solved this" button for the game "Masterclass", but the site gave me a blank page and stayed on the URL httpx://solutionarchive.com/solved/id%2C1179/mode%2Ctrue/ (protocol changed to HTTPX so the forum doesn't automatically format it as a URL). Same with the "I'm ...

Re: Username showing as Anonymous after submission
If it helps, when it happened to me I had just logged in from the website and was using cookies (my usage of the site should be consistent with this pattern, I think). What I find baffling is why this would happen for some users but not for others.

It's an error, that was me too. Thanks all for fixing the snag, by the way.

Re: Username showing as Anonymous after submission
The comment is the one on https://solutionarchive.com/game/id%2C2 ... C+The.html
There's a map submitted for that same game, but I can't access the link because it's not in my submission's queue any longer (I guess it got added to the Anonymous queue).

Username showing as Anonymous after submission
What it says on the tin: just noticed it today after submitting a map. My username was displayed correctly on the "Logged in as Exemptus" box, but the submission and comment are displayed as Anonymous. Maybe a recent change has broken something?

Re: Perry Mason: The Case of the Mandarin Murder
Then, there is the blood in one place and the weird absence of blood in another which the game deftly describes. Not sure yet what it means, but I am quite sure that it will become important. Otherwise, it wouldn't be mentioned so prominently.
You're on the right track, but admittedly, this is ...

Re: Perry Mason: The Case of the Mandarin Murder
Oh, are you saying I can go back to the apartment after having been thrown out? I'll play to the inevitable failure first, then I'll give this a try. Thanks!
No; I'm saying that you can avoid being thrown out for longer, if you're careful. It's worth experimenting a little and see what things ...

Re: Quest [Roger Chaffee]
It is clearly based on the same source material. The Tansoft version changes some things and adds others, so it should have a separate entry, but the game itself is recognisable. It's more a "derived port with additions" than a port.

Re: Perry Mason: The Case of the Mandarin Murder
I played the PC version, but I have no reason to think the C64 is any different. Do investigate the apartment thoroughly and examine everything. If you miss things there, then some key questions won't be available in court. You will find some interesting bits but it's up to you to decide which are ...
