Synopsis

Plot

As Margaret Thatcher's husband, Denis, you have to escape Downing Street 10 and the world of politics in general so that you might go to your favourite pub for a drink.

Notes

The satirical text is largely written in verses.

The gameplay is somewhat hampered by the fact that you need to locate a drink every ten turns.

Roger Taylor wrote and programmed the original Spectrum release, using the Quill.

The Atari version was *not* programmed with the Quill.

The BBC Micro & Electron versions are also not Quilled. The first BBC Micro version was programmed by Ian Bishrey. The second (faster) version of the game was produced by James Byrne, using the 'Ashminster' code developed for the BBC version of Hampstead.

I like the premise of this, but the execution isn't all that great. And having to drink all the time is tiresome!

For all its cleverness, this is more a collection of political in-jokes and "guess the right word" riddles than a proper game. You need to be savvy on the early 80s' UK political landscape to get the satire, but it is too poorly written and amateurish. It remains a curiosity.
