Scenario
As Yed Prior you are the true heir to the throne.  Your father, King Rasselhague,  left on a
hazardous journey to Acrux to seek out your wicked uncle Chaleb in an attempt to kill him so that
the ways to which the people have grown accustomed will be preserved.  You must find the clue he has
left you so that you are able to follow him and attempt the task.

Notes
1. As you can die it is a good idea to save your position before attacking.
2. When you attack an opponent you are asked if you wish to Lunge, Swing or Hack, then you are asked
if you wish to retreat, dodge or duck.  It doesn't really seem to matter which you choose,
apart from retreat, and you must just keep trying until you succeed. 

Walk Through
(Start in hot desert), INVENTORY (carrying a broadsword and an ornate ring), EXAMINE RING (bears the
king's seal), S (see a corpse), EXAMINE CORPSE, CAREFULLY SEARCH CORPSE (find a set of identity
papers), GET PAPERS, READ PAPERS (belong to Captain Darge), BURY BODY, W, E (west gate of the city
of Turais where a guard is checking travellers' identity papers), GIVE PAPERS (he lets you
pass), E (narrow cobbled street), E (market place), N (meet a guard and an old woman), EXAMINE GUARD
(he is beating the woman), ATTACK GUARD (keep trying until you succeed), CAREFULLY SEARCH GUARD (you
find a well-concealed purse), GET PURSE, COUNT MONEY (the purse holds 5 gold pieces), GET LONG
SWORD, SEARCH GUARD (find a magnet), GET MAGNET, E (cottage where the old woman gives you a gift as
a token of her gratitude), GET WATCH, EXAMINE WATCH (broken), W S, W, N (pawn shop), PAWN LONG SWORD
(it is broken but he gives you a gold piece for it as there are some stones in the handle), BUY
SEXTANT.

S, E, S, E (general store), BUY LAMP, BUY RATIONS, W, W (fruiterers), BUY ORANGES, E, S
(T-junction), E (front door of a large mansion), E (hall where you meet an old man who asks your
name), SAY YED (he asks if you have any proof of that), GIVE RING (he examine it and gives you an
envelope), GET ENVELOPE, OPEN ENVELOPE, READ LETTER, READ OVER (from your father King Rasselhague),
W, W, N, N, E (harbour road), N (Jolly Sailor Inn but you have no money for an ale), ATTACK SAILOR
(repeat until he is dead), GET AXE, S, E, N (harbour-masters office where he wants to see your
papers), GIVE PAPERS (they are in order), EXAMINE CHARTS (show an island which lies in a southerly
direction from Turais), S, S (on board a large galleon - must be carrying the sextant), D (captains
quarters where you see a sea chest), WEAR RING, OPEN CHEST, PUT RATIONS, PUT LAMP, PUT BROADSWORD,
PUT AXE (in the chest), U, S (sailing across the sea - you don't feel so good, perhaps
it's scurvy), EAT ORANGES (you feel better).

S (you are sailing across the sea), S, SE, SE, S (the lookout reports land to the south... without
warning a giant sea serpent surfaces and attacks the ship... it's tail smashes the timbers and
the ship begins to sink leaving you swimming in the sea), SWIM S (to a sandy beach where the tide is
washing up wreckage from the ship), INVENTORY (wearing the ring and carrying the magnet and watch -
the other items you have lost), LOOK (until a chest is washed up onto the beach), OPEN CHEST (see
the items you put in there earlier plus a coil of rope), GET BROADSWORD, GET AXE, GET LAMP, GET
RATIONS, GET ROPE.

E (sandy beach), DIG SAND (you uncover a blunt machete), GET MACHETE, E (damp cave where you see a
smooth pebble), SHARPEN MACHETE (on the pebble), W, S (dense undergrowth), CUT UNDERGROWTH (with
machete revealing a track south), S (narrow gully), S (valley), E (by lake where you see a rowing
boat belonging to a goblin who wants 10 gold pieces for it), ATTACK GOBLIN (keep trying until you
kill him), GET SPEAR, SEARCH GOBLIN (find a key), GET KEY, ENTER BOAT, GET OARS, ROW BOAT (to
southern end of lake), BOAT UNDER (you travel through the curtain of water formed by the
waterfall... the boat however fills with water and sinks, depositing you on a sandy beach inside a
cavern with a steel door south), OPEN DOOR (locked), UNLOCK DOOR (key doesn't fit), CAREFULLY
EXAMINE DOOR (the hinges are on this side), PRISE HINGE (you remove the pins), S (base of spiral
staircase), U (inside a small cave), E (plateau), TIE ROPE (to the tree), S, W (pool of water where
you see a large steel ball), GET BALL (too heavy) EXAMINE BALL (attached to it is a shackle), TIE
ROPE (to the shackle on the ball), E, N (back to tree), CHOP TREE (using axe - it falls over the
edge of the precipice down into the lake below), S (the water level has dropped by six inches), W, W
(something won't fit), DROP AXE, DROP SPEAR, W, W (lake), S (massive underground cavern).

S, S, W (steep path), D (bottom of steep slope where you see the remains of a bridge which once
spanned the gully from high above), EXAMINE BRIDGE (a loose plank comes away in your hand), GET
PLANK, U, E, N, N, W, W (ledge where you see the remains of a bridge which spanned a sheer drop into
the gully below), PUT PLANK (it spans the gully), CROSS PLANK (to western edge of ledge... you are
feeling hungry), EAT RATIONS, W (mountain path which twists and turns), SE, N, NW, E, SW (outside
cave), ENTER CAVE, S, S (you fall over a trip wire and are captured... you wake in a cold damp cell
with a goblin guard and only your watch which was overlooked), HYPNOTISE GOBLIN (using watch), W
(dimly lit passage), LISTEN DOOR (until you hear nothing), N (goblins' guard room where you see
your belongings and a fishing rod), GET BROADSWORD, GET RING, WEAR RING, GET LAMP, GET MAGNET, GET
ROD (ignore the goblin), S.

W (passage with an exit south), S (must be carrying broadsword, watch and lamp and be wearing the
ring - to ledge outside a cave entrance), TIE MAGNET (to fishing rod), W (ledge high up the side of
a mountain where you see a winch mechanism), EXAMINE WINCH (the rope is missing), LOOK DOWN (far
below you see a rope attached to a metal ring), LOWER ROD (it attached to the ring and you are able
to pull the rope up), GET ROPE, TIE ROPE (you clip the ring onto the winch), DROP ROD (otherwise the
goblin will cut the rope), CLIMB ROPE (to base of mountain).

CONGRATULATIONS
You have reached the other side orf the mountains alive.
