My 5th Artic adventure. They've gone a bit more colourful with this one as I think it was the first one that wasn't a direct copy from the ZX81 original. It remains a relatively straightforward fun adventure, albeit with the relatively obvious treasure collection theme.
I think I enjoyed this most of the five so far.
Why am I trawling my way through them all? Well....Ship of Doom was the first game I ever got, my Dad bought it for me and I never finished it. I'd missed adventures so I started there!
Parser/Vocabulary (Rating: 6/10)
Once again there are a few odd commands like 'on lamp' instead of 'light lamp'. This makes one or two situations a little tricky. Otherwise pretty sound.
Atmosphere (Rating: 7/10)
Vaguely atmospheric but it won't have you hiding behind the chair.
Cruelty (Rating: Tough)
Nothing that would make you maddened by the difficulty. Many times you need to pace a little...
Puzzles (Rating: 7/10)
Challenging but logical puzzles that make the game challenging enough but mean it can be completed without resort to solution help (I needed help for 'on lamp'!
Overall (Rating: 7/10)
A nice traditional old school adventure, polished enough and satisfying to complete.
