The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole is a choose-your-own-adventure type game, written in part by Mosaic. Based on a popular children's book, the story centers around Adrian Mole, a young boy in the town of Lester, England.

Along the way you'll encounter various events, in which case you'll need to make a choice from a numbered list, e.g.:

"The spot on my chin is getting bigger. It is my mother's fault for not knowing about vitamins.
Choose one of the following for me:
1) put a plaster over the spot.
2) put Savlon on the spot.
3) scratch the spot."

Parser/Vocabulary (Rating: 2/10)

Aside from the choose-your-own-adventure style of gameplay, you can type in someone's name to view some information about them, e.g.:
"Pandora Braithwaite (14). New girl at our school. Beautiful, with treacle-coloured hair and eyes the colour of our dog's. Goes on protest marches and gets up petitions about everything. Lives in a posh house at 69 Elm Tree Avenue.
Daughter of Ivan and Tanya Braithwaite. I think I'm falling in love with her; I can't be sure because I've not done it before."

Other than that, there isn't much aside from the available choices.

Atmosphere (Rating: 1/10)

There isn't much atmosphere at all, but just by playing the game you can imagine the sort of things Adrian lives with. That's about it for atmosphere.

Cruelty (Rating: Merciful)

There are no guess-the-verb or guess-the-noun problems, nor is there a way to get the game into an unwinnable state. This is due to the CYOA style of gameplay.

Puzzles (Rating: 0/10)

There are no puzzles. Enough said.

Overall (Rating: 5/10)

Although it is not very complex, The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole is an enjoyable game and a good time-waster.
