After getting the skull, drive to Scunsdale back to your study to see a letter.

This will allow you to drive to the Bar in CregleyArms. You will need the bones for a dog.

At last.

Thanks so much for your help especially looking through the magazines. Was any mention made how to "alternate" the graffiti message with the ransom note message?

I have written up a solution (not a walkthrough per se but rather explicit hints and directions, and if you have no objections, I'll eventuallly send it to Jacob. Given the random elements and the lack of logic in this game (who would have thought that you needed to go back home in the middle), I wouldn't wish anyone to go through the frustration without having an end in sight.

Mucho thanks once again.

The code....

The letter on the tapestry S R K T E K L T O E T E L B

Plus the letters on the ransom note Alternate these to get strike the skull etc.

Hope this makes it clearer.

These hints were found in a magazine written by Alf Baldwin, who Iam sorry to say has now passed away.

Doreen.

Nope, it makes it no clearer at all. While you can fit in some letter to get - STRIKE THE SKULL TO OPEN THE SLAB - I can't see how this alternates with the ransom note. Can't get the "skull" part. But that's working backwards from the answer, isn't it.

Some clues are just to obscure for me.

Thanks.
