Sorry for yet another post, but I have solved the tomb puzzle. Wearing the medallion, kneel, SAY ASGOTH (you must use caps for Asgoth), a tunnel opens south. Go back to the man, He gives you a jug. DRINK LIQUID gives you a dream about Penelope, but you probably should not do that, and find some other use for it.

A bit more progress. Throwing the stone at the guard allows you to go past. UNTIE PENELOPE (remember to capitalize the P). You can call the eagle with the shell and climb on him, but the natives wait for you on the other side of the bridge.

So I'm stuck again.

I decided to download the ZXSpin emulator and play the game this way.

So I had to start all over from the beginning and everything works OK

I have now found Penelope...

Thanks for the tomb tip Terri, though I found there is no need to kneel.
After crossing the bridge use the axe to CHOP BRIDGE before the natives have a chance to cross.

I have managed to get Penelope back to the boat but as yet have not found the means to repair the hole.

I just wonder if using the eagle to escape the village is the correct method as it does not require the jug of liquid. By going north into the large dark hut and dropping everything before being captured by the natives you will find everything you dropped waiting for you, this may be along the lines of the 'proper' solution - the problem is that except by blowing the shell I have been unable to escape.

Anyone found a use for the necklace yet, or cracked the swamp?

I know you don't have to kneel; if you're praying to the dead, don't you think you should?

I didn't drop anything in the other hut. With the problems this emulator is giving Doreen and me with the cloak/necklace, I couldn't pick anything up again, and I didn't want to be left without the necklace (or cloak) if needed.

No, I am no further in the swamp or plugging the boat.

About the jug, I agree that it seems "unfinished".

I have found some iron nails in the hut WEST of the valley near the outcrop. EXAM HUT tells you that some paintings WERE once hung there.
type GET NAILS but you need the hammer.

Going back to the boat and FIX BOAT - something is still missing - the program understands the word PLANK.

So i've tried chopping the bed/ladder/hatch/ to no avail....

Any more from you two?

I noticed the hut description changed after giving the medallion to the shaman, but I did not have the hammer at the time.

Still no further progress on my front, chopping huts does not work either.

I'm no further ahead either. Chopping the bench does no good. Chopping trees does what Alastair says.

Does anyone know what the niche is for? Or the pillar beyond the desert?

Bravo Doreen!!
This certainly has been a communal effort and I thank you both.
What was your point score? I didn't drink the liquid in the jug, and only got 95%.

Is anyone willing to write a solution? I would; however, since my emulator has all these glitches, I'm not sure I should be the one to do so.

Anyone willng to join me in a new game? (see the Wanna play section)

My final score was only 93%.

I didn't use the jug either.
I did find out that if you dropped the jugged to the WEST of the guard at the village, then went S E he was asleep - so I went and got Penelope but I did't get to the bridge in time before the natives got me.

So I blew the shell in the village and escaped that way.

I obtained 100%, I think it has to do with the number of locations you visit, never found a beneficial use for the necklace though.

Following on from Doreen's suggestion I tried from the west of the guard -
DROP JUG - THROW STONE AT GUARD - LOOK - E - E - N (for points) - S - E (again for a percentage mark) - N - UNTIE PENELOPE (capital P) - SW - W - S - S - S - S - S - S - SW - W - W - CHOP BRIDGE.

I suspect that the above is the official way to escape the village with Penelope.

P.S. I have made a map, how do I upload it to this site?

Whenever I need to send anything to this site I just send it direct to Jacob,
I presume that is what others do.
