Any Turkish speakers amongst us?

#1 Post by andreas »

Well, it's mainly about the 1988/89 C64 game "Keloglan" which I'd like to see solved finally.

Despite my ridiculously poor language skills (being able to build 2- or 3-word sentences does not necessarily mean you can ask questions in Turkish on a forum), I WAS able to get quite far, but I'm stuck now.

Again, don't even think of bothering with this if you don't understand Turkish, since a dictionary won't help you much (you will need the imperative mode, which cannot be constructed unless you know a little basic grammar)
However, should you be able to master the language, I'll be honored to send you the disk image as well as the partial solution (if desired).

To begin with I don't speak Turkish at all, but nevertheless I decided to play the game. I've made a list with all the verbs and nouns and I translated them.

I've made a map of the castle with all the objects. I just have to finish the room descriptions which is a bit difficult because I don't understand Turkish and my "friend" translate.Google is not very accurate :).

I understand there is a sleeping princess you have to wake. In order to do that you have to collect 8 letters. With these letters you can make a magic word and the princess awakes and you can marry her.

I've a problem at the start:
-If I want to take the gun with the command "AL TUFEK" I get a message "which object". Seems like a bug.

Andreas did you manage to take it?

This is what I've done until I reach the location with the gun:

GIR (you enter the castle), AL FARE (take mouse), AL PANZEHIR (take antidote), D (without the antidote you are killed by the spider), AL YESIL ANAHTAR (you take the green key), B, G, AC KAPIYI (you open the door with the green key. if you don't have the mouse you are killed by the snake), B, I KITABI (you examine the book and find the letter t), AL T, D, G, AL KIRMIZI ANAHTAR (take red key), I MASAYI (you examine the table and find the letter h), AL H, D, I KAPAGI (you examine the carpet and find the letter c), AL C, B, K, AC KAPIYI (you open the door with the green key), K, D, G, AL TUFEK (take gun)

As told above. This last command does not work. Although the gun is there I can't take it.

Ok I solved this problem. I had to type AL TUFEGI.

I've finished the map. Will upload it tonight.

You're a MARVEL!!

Thank you so much. I wouldn't have imagined in my wildest dreams that it would go that fast. Just came back here to check if I had "one reply" in my thread, seeing all the work was done within less than a month ;)

BTW, since it may take a little until the WT is up (got to be patient for Gunness' next update), another small note to this one: your partial WT is stripped down a LOT. :) To begin with, I remember clearly from my playing attempts that you had to drop items a DOZEN times in this game because you were frequently carrying around too much weight otherwise. And, as far as I can remember, the 'weight meter' was a pretty intolerant one.

You don't have to wait for an update to see the map and the walkthrough. I've already uploaded them.

The final walkthrough has been tested and when you use it, you should have no problems of carrying too many objects.
