Classic adventure-help required (Amsoft/Abersoft version)
I can only get a score of 150 out of 210. How do I finish the game?
Re: Classic adventure-help required (Amsoft/Abersoft version
Hello there!
There are a couple of solutions on the game's entry page http://solutionarchive.com/game/id%2C79 ... ure+1.html. I am not sure if they will give you all of the answers that you require but E. Yoong's solution says that you will end up with a score of 10350 out of 210 !

Hi. Yes I've tried both of these solutions, but I'm not having any luck getting past 150. Do the treasures need to be collected in a specific order>

I haven't played this particular version but if it is like the versions of Colossal Cave that I have played then the treasures can be collected in any order (with the exception of the pillow and the vase, and the other occasions where you need to deploy one treasure to obtain another). So if you have all of the treasures all you need to do is drop them all in the small brick building (looking at the solutions there does not appear to be a magazine which needs to be deposited in Witt's End - for which you can be thankful) then proceed to the end game. Is Note 1 in the anonymous solution of any help?al1961 wrote:Do the treasures need to be collected in a specific order>

Re: Classic adventure-help required (Amsoft/Abersoft version
Sorry, but no. However many times I try the endgame, I cannot go SW from "one end of a vast hall stretching forward out of sight". I can only go W, U, S or D. I have tried typing SCORE here as in one of the solutions given, and I've tried typing SCORE in the well-house (as given in the other solution) and neither appears to work.

Al, which platform version of the game are you playing and where did you obtain it?
Re: Classic adventure-help required (Amsoft/Abersoft version
Hi Alistair, it's the Amstrad CPC version, running on an emulator.
I downloaded it (the game) from cpc-power.com.
I did buy the game and played it on an actual CPC during the eighties, and was unable to complete it back then.

Re: Classic adventure-help required (Amsoft/Abersoft version
I've played and completed the tape image that is available at cpc-power.com, though the score remains at 150. All I did was enter the "Vast Hall stretching forward out of sight to the west" and I was transported to the end game, no need to type "score" or go SW.
Update
I've now tried the disc image and find the problem that you describe - I reckon that the disc image is bugged.

Ok, I'll try the tape-image version. Thanks anyway.
