Hi folks.
Iamaran and I are played the other game written by Anthony Lee (see Annabel Gray).
Not quite the ambience, but close enough.
We got the arrowhead, shovel, the book, the cane. We got in the balloon, outwitted the stranger, made and threw the spear and the sandbags, pulled the valve, then the rip cord and ended on an ice cap. We took the rope, dug a hole, slept, shouted at the crevice, took the axe, tied the rope to it, wedged the axe, and climbed down.
So we are there and stuck. We got the sols playing the trumpet. You can get in to see Don Pedro, but that appears to work only once.
You meet the murderous stranger again, see a dog entering a hole, a peasant steals anything you drop at the "cobbledstone area. Since WAIT was needed in Lee's other game, I even tried that.
So it's time to ask for assistance. We are ready to eat "humble pie" if we have missed something obvious (well, at least I am).

I might be able to help if I can get rid of that annoying final obstacle in Egyptian Adventure (see topic.) For some reason I can't concentrate as well on other adventures while an unfinished one is occupying my thoughts with some particularly difficult problem to sort out.
Re: atahaulpa (BBC)
I understand and will be patient. Right now I am playtesting Larry's game, so I am occupied as well.
Re: atahaulpa (BBC)
I'm trying to get familiar with the game and its vocabulary/commands. So far I haven't been making much progress. Found the trumpet, and that's about it. I suppose you must get the Jules Verne book to the balloon pilot, but talking to the librarian doesn't seem to do anything, and the library shelves do not seem to have the book you are looking for.
Re: atahaulpa (BBC)
There are a few other objects to find here.
In the library, wait until a woman arrives. Then examine something.

OK, got it. I also found the cane and the arrowhead. Where is the shovel, though? I can't seem to find that. There is an adobe house that you can enter, but there doesn't seem to be anything there.terri wrote:There are a few other objects to find here.

Re: atahaulpa (BBC)
Never mind. I just found it. It was in the arch.

I have good news. I have been able to make some progress beyond where you became stuck.terri wrote: So we are there and stuck. We got the sols playing the trumpet. You can get in to see Don Pedro, but that appears to work only once.

You need to map the "cobbledstone area", which is very tedious to do, until you reach the chapel. You have to do it with the sols, and by throwing them, not dropping them (if you drop them the "peasant" just picks them up like the other objects.) It is very tedious because you need to throw the sols, find the next screen you can go to, go back, pick up the sols, go back to that next screen, and start all over again. You also need to avoid screens where you stumble upon the "swarthy looking stranger", or else in a few turns he kills you. This is the way from the "narrow cobbled street" to the chapel:
S, W, S, E, S, E, N, E
This is the way back from the chapel to the plaza:
W, S, W, N, W, N, E, N, E
I have chained the dog and unleashed it on the murderous stranger to scare him away. This might open up the way through the maze to some other location/s, but I have not been able to map it/them yet.
