annabel gray - BBC game

#1 Post by terri »

This is a two-part game, available somewhere (maybe Stairway to Hell?). The descriptions are rather good, or at least I see Gone with the Wind as a backdrop in my mind. Part 1 does not seem too complicated, given that I finished it. But I am stuck in Part 2.

So I'll wait until someone joins in.

Stuck points include what to do with what Cassieopeia tells you, what to do with Tom and the stuck-in-the-mud carriage, how to get past the guard who throws you out. I presume solving one of these will open up possibilities for the other "stuck" points.

Did you wait on the trail through the woods when you heard hoofbeats approaching?

No, that's how you get to the horse which I assume will enable you to free the cart from the rut (though I haven't tried too hard yet).

To get past the guard, go west behind the oak tree. Shout and wait until he runs past.
I think you have to do this the first time you get through the hedge. If you don't, in future you encounter him before you can get as far as the tree.

Yes, I did get the horse. But don't know how to give it to Tom.

I'll check past the gap.

I've made some progress. At Villefranche you need to climb inside the window.
I've freed Aaron. I've got lots of cotton. I got the carriage moved. I've gotten past the locked door.

But now I don't know what to do.

Once you scare the guard away, he does not return.

So that's where the invitation card is! I didn't go through the window.

Did you sell the cotton to Whitney Jones? The money he gives you is your train fare into town. You can catch a train after about 3 o'clock (from memory).

Have you got anything to wear to the party?

Yes, I presume you need to sell the cotton to Whitney, but where do I find him? Keep waiting at the steps? Or somewhere else?

Yes I have something to wear to the party.

To whom does one show/give the burnt slip of paper?

Yes, he's around in the early stages at the steps.
Re the paper, I don't know. I haven't completed the game yet as I didn't get the party invitation, so didn't get into the party towards what I assume is the end of the game.
I won't have time to play again in the next few days.

I am finished. You only meet Whitney once, so I had to make sure I had everything to give him.

Solution (from both of us) is being sent.

Just a few hints.
