aftermath Spectrum Computing 1985

#1 Post by terri »

I am trying to play this game, but am stuck at the tangled brushwood. I presume I need some matches, but cannot find any. Can someone join in and maybe let me know where they are?

Thanks in advance.

I'm at the train station. How do you activate the train? I suppose that you have to whistle, as the leaflet suggests, but I can't seem to accomplish this ("whistle train" does not seem to work.)

I visited the train station but had no idea how to get a train.

However, I do need to get past the brushwood first.

After you pass the barrier, the description says that "you are inside a tube train", so the problem does not seem to be how to get a train, but how to activate it. If you type "activate train" it tells you that "trains operate automatically when you..." (the obvious "missing" command here seems to be "whistle", as the leaflet hints at.)

BTW, what items have you found so far? I've found the following:

Steel shovel
Anti-radiation suit
Bristle broom
Glowing rock
Rubber pipe
Torch
Batteries
Leaflet
Coin
Ticket
Hooded white robe
Contaminated chicken
Contaminated ham
Decaying body
Small key

No, it doesn't work either.

I have not found
the rubber pipe
the leaflet
the hooded white robe

Are those the objects beyond the brushwood?

A few hints please.

No. I have not been able to find the matches yet, so I also have not been able to get through the brushwood.

The rubber pipe is found in the store. You need to unbolt the door to get in.

The leaflet is found in the same room where the ticket machine is.

The hooded white robe is carried by the mutant guard. You need to kill him.

Is the glowing rock hot? If so then perhaps you do not need matches.

I think that may be needed elswhere.

Unbolting the door? OK. I hope I have a tool for this.

I've managed to get the robe and get what is there.

But still can't get into the store.

Nor get the train to move.

So, maybe some help about how to get into the store?

Have you been able to get past the locked steel door?

What else was there? (I am not at my PC right now so I can't check.) I got into the mutant "temple" by wearing the robe. There is some sort of duct there, but was not able to do anything.

Yes, you do have the "tool" for this. It's very... "attractive"

Neither can I.

I haven't found that yet. Where is it?

Never mind, I just accessed the duct and got the graphite rods.

OK, I just found it too, but I haven't been able to open it yet. I also found a long thin wire.

Do you know how to turn off the torch?
