Escape from Raka Tua

#1 Post by df »

Ahh its been so long, but I finally got a hold of and managed to complete the last of the Mountain Valley Software Games, 'Escape from Raka Tua'. I'll have to write up a solution this week. Its a nice compact little game, full of the same MVS-isms as all the other games, no brutal mazes or anything (like Lost city).

Sounds great! That reminds me that I need to finish the map and write up the solution for Treasure of Dead Man's Cay. I should also upload some Q&A I did with Brian Betts.

That'd be cool to see some q+a with him.
What is Treasure of Dead Man's Cay? I find no references to it outside of this site.

Is it like the rest of the MVS games?? can I get a copy?? :) :)

That's because CASA is your #1 source for all the breaking news on the adventure front ;)

No, really... Brian Betts wrote a few more games that for various reasons went unpublished. Treasure (which, yes, is like the others) is one, there's another called Sorcerers of Ravenswood and a couple more which I'm unsure were ever finished or not. The games have been stored on disc in a basement for years, so Brian had to struggle a great deal with transferring the games, but I think he managed to rescue them all.

The games will all be released, I'll ask him how he wants to do it :)

That's an interesting little subsection to the site that I never noticed before, but shouldn't it refreshed with the site's new colour scheme?

Stu, you have a pm ;)

And yes, the articles section still needs revision. Bringing the MVS sub-site into line with the rest of the site's design would be a lot of work, so that's something that needs careful consideration.

Ok, both the Pirate scans and the MVS sub-site is now linked correctly on the articles page.
Apart from removing the menu from the old site, I haven't done anything with the MVS pages, but at least they're working now.
