Hall of the King 3: The Earthstone Revealed - TRS-80 CoCo

#1 Post by Juan »

Anyone around here played the third part of this trilogy for the TRS-80 CoCo?:

I am stuck at what seems to be close to the end of it. I have joined the pieces of the key and opened the gate to the place where the Earthstone supposedly is, but you arrive at a small ledge overlooking a lava lake, and no sign of it anywhere, and everything I have tried so far does not seem to make anything happen.

At the moment I seem to be stuck in the lava tubes, despite following the ring directions. Is it just a case of following a large number of directions, or do you need to be carrying specific objects or do something else?

The directions you have to follow at the lava tubes are very tedious due to their large number. Here they are:

N, E, N, U, S, E, N, D, E, S, E, N, N, U, W, D, N, W, S, W, N, D, N

I've completed the lava tubes, as you say very tedious, and the game. So for a not very subtle clue you need to read something aloud. If you want the actual command, which is not particularly good English, then highlight the text within the quote box.

Well, that was certainly little logical. No wonder it was difficult to figure out what to do.

Shall I write a walkthrough or do you want to take care of that?

I'll let you do that as I'm still doing the solution to part 1 (where the logic is such that you can fill a deep pool with the contents of a single bucket, and a stick will dry in a draught but not in front of a roaring fire).

OK, written. Will send it to the site as soon as the upload feature is working again.
