I haven't played the game, but can you drop your coat before hitting the soldier and pick it up once you've left the cell?

Good shout dave, didn't think of that but just tried dropping the coat in three different places and it isn't there when I get out of the cell.

Reasonable suggestion Dave, but why would this location be any different than the others? It also assumes that you can get off the train immediately before it leaves, and you can get back on the same train. And the coat will still be there? Any other location we have tried to drop the coat, it disappears after you have been in the cell. Dropping it in the train will be different?

This makes me think of Peter Killworth. He did not write this game, of course. But in his games, his logic was irrefutable. Wonder if he ever finished the game he REALLY wanted to write? Yes, this is completely irrelevant to this conversation. I DO go off on tangents.

PS If either of you can help me out of a "logic" dilemma I have, let me know. This has absolutely nothing to do with this game and this forum. Maybe I'll write to Alastair...

If there are any egregious errors here, blame it on my new kitty. She jumps on the keyboard, and buttons get pushed, one of which is the Language bar (where letters get changed). Right now she is sitting on my shoulder, and contemplating...

Of course, this is all completely irrelevant to the game and our questions, but I think you need somebody like me (a woman maybe?) who tends to see irrelevancies and who notes the humour in these discussions and posts them sometimes). Even if only for adding a "broader" perspective, sometimes some wit, complete irrelevancies and useless information and tangents you cannot follow, etc. Can't be too "dry" can we? It does add some note of whimsy, does it not? If this is not "allowed" or "offensive", or otherwise objectionable, let me know. Jacob, I am talking to you. I will consider stopping, only if you don't want a laugh, or if you will NOT roll your eyeballs at this completely useless piece of information. There is no obligation to reply in kind.

It's been a long week. I am tired.

Check out the listings, Zeno, and let me know how/when/where, etc. to solve this problem. If you cannot get the "listings" write either Dave or me, and we can tell you how to get them.

Anything further on this? Did getting off the train work?

I have to ask 'What are the listings?'.

How would they help me get past this problem?

I will reply publicly later if the pm isn't clear. Though rather not let the whole world know, though it probably does. When people, for example, post a list of verbs, they got them from somewhere...
