holiday - e.j.spicer

#1 Post by terri »

I am stuck quite early in this three-part Amstrad game (available at NVG).

I can't use the shower. You can turn the dial for the water, but how to get in?

Also at the swan - what to do - the apple doesn't work.

Help would be nice to have.

Try 'looking under the bed' and also 'looking behind wardrobe'...

Thanks for the hints Doreen, but I am no further ahead.

I have been dim-witted all week. None of the objects work at the bridge, or at the swan, or at the grassy area. Though I may not have the right verb. I haven't tried then at the shower. What good would they be at a shower? Maybe being logical is no help.

I think I'll go read - I think I can manage that...

Have also finished Minette. :thumb:

So the shower is a red herring?

You can turn the dial and get wet but I didn't use the shower.

Re: Part 2:

I've mapped it and found the available objects. I found the cold man, but don't know what to buy in the shop (if at all).
A little nudge would be nice.

Mistakes in this game - the available exits and the descriptions don't match. Not a big deal, since the number of locations is small.

Just 'give money to man' (shop).

I think we are trying to 'look between the lines too deeply in these games, for puzzles that are just not there!'

Still stuck in part 3.

I'm trying to KISS (keep it simple, stupid), but I'm not further ahead than you. What does one do with a senile guard? Giving the phonebook doesn't help. St. Alban's should be a clue of some sort. I thought maybe there would be a key at the bottom of the pool, but there isn't. Not to mention John at the sales office.

Right your just about where I am in part 3.

If you 'examine pool table' in the games room you should find a coin...

as to what to buy in the shop....???

Thanks for the hint about the coin.

I've tried buying each of the items, and using as simple a verb as possible, and having collected all the items at John's, I am no further ahead.

Sometimes simple is very complicated.
