Amstrad game. Kinda "cute" though I hate that word.

Your job is to find Santa.

I am stuck (with some objects I collected), at the door which I can't open unless I know the tune. And being unable to fix the sleigh.

Looking through my very rough notes and map -

at the house door 'WHISTLE SILENT NIGHT'

Workshop door - 'KNOCK ON DOOR' then 'SAY MISTLETOE'

You will need wood/nails/hammer for the sleigh.

And how is one supposed to know what to sing/say, etc.?

Looks like a lot of red herrings. But what do I know?

Anyway - how does one tie a reindeer to the sleigh? One? More than one? You can only feed one.

So much for this being a "cute" game.

Anything to do/give/say to ma christmas? Or the elves?

Is the safe openable?

Try pulling the crackers and reading the motto inside for a clue to the safe.

There is no interaction with ma or the elves.

In the house collect various objects - use the sack as a container for all the objects.

But you first need to drop the sack - before you can put anything inside it, don't forget to pick up the sack again.

Once you have the whistle blow it for a certain reindeer to come - then feed oats.

'Hitch deer to sleigh' is the verb here.

Yes, I found the motto, but didn't get it. Ok I'll
think some more about it.

Thanks for the verb.

I'm still stuck.

Is it an anagram of some kind? Is the answer numerical or alphabetical? Or am I on the wrong track altogether?

Shouldn't it be a Christmas theme answer? :)

A few more hints please?

The safe - you know me I don't do secret writing...

DIAL TWO FOUR ZERO

you will need a compass to FLY SLEIGH - GO NE - CRASHED SLEIGH, NEVER MIND.

Put ice cube in oven.

The green button in the hall only works once so make sure you have everything upstairs.

SHAKE BOOT

You must find and wear snow shoes/long johns/parka and gas mask.

SEARCH FLOP for a battery.

DRINK ANTIFREEZE

In the dark light the candle with lighter.

KNOCK ON IGLOO DOOR - REDESCRIBE - BUY DEAD SEAL USING HANDBAG! Use the seal to lure the polar bear to the icehole, then kick bear.

Thanks Doreen

I am sure I tried DIAL as the verb, but maybe I typed in numerals, not words. I did get the 2 4 0 bit.

These things are sent to try me, I know.

I'll see how I get along from here.

Well, it is still not as simple as it appears.

I went into the house first, even though I couldn't get everything out. So I tried again, getting into the compound place first.

I couldn't place anything into the sack. I tried dropping, putting, etc. having dropped the sack. I tried INTO, INSIDE, IN - nada.
Anyway, having put everything into the sleigh, I could not fly it.

If you take too long, you are taken over by an adversary.

I also tried to take any "bad" things out of the sleigh, but that didn't work either.

Either I missed a step somewhere... or.

Maybe you'd better send me your solution by pm. This is getting tiresome. Thanks.

Hate to see you stuck - but did you EMPTY BAG first before DROP SACK then PUT ... IN SACK then GET SACK - You can LOOK IN SACK

If you still have no joy with this I'll send the solution.

Aaaah - and here I thought you needed to deliver the sack to Santa so he could deliver the toys. No, I hadn't considered that I needed to empty the sack first.

Well, at least I don't have to start from the beginning.

Let you know how I made out.

I think you had better send me the solution in a pm.

I am still going around in circles. If you don't drink the liquid in the jerrycan right away, you can't do it later.

I still get the message when I am in the sleigh that I can't fly it.

I can put the toys back in, so my sense of "satisfaction" is better.

Seems that sequence of actions is important in this game. Possibly other things as well. Such as what to carry and what not.

Maybe I need a break. I'll go and read a book. Good pastime that is. Less frustrating at least.

PS also tried phe/onix too. Lots of wandering around. Maybe I'll finish part 1 eventually.

On the plus side - your style and my style mesh. But...
